When you die, that's it?
And would you rather go to hell than not exist?

Yes, I’m scared of the unknown.

No heaven nor hell? Oh goody goody now I can get a nice long sleep. Or does that just mean we become ghosts or get reincarnated?

When you die, that's it? And would you rather go to hell than not exist? Now that’s a good question. I have no faith and am very much afraid there is nothing after death and that scares me a lot. I would love it if something existed. But I guess I wouldn’t opt for Hell over nothing because eternal suffering just sounds real bad . I do like the idea of a god I just can’t bring myself to believing in it..

As for Hell, there is the possibility that God has slandered the Devil. Hell may be one eternal orgy of delicious debauchery. How do we know it's so bad?

Asking what it's like after you're dead is like asking what's further north than the north pole.
And the way I see, if you're an unhappy depressed fuck here on Earth, why wouldn't you be an unhappy depressed fuck in heaven for eternity either?

Purgatory is actually an OPTIMISTIC BELIEF, not a pessimistic one).

I'm not afraid of that at all. I want my pain and my memories wiped out, and if that cannot be done I'm going to ask God for permission to not exist. No existence = no pain.

You'll never know that there's nothing though. if you're not existing it's not like you can be sitting around going damn I don't exist anymore.

An atheist would say that. A religious person would beg to differ. According to the Buddha the physical causes desire and suffering. Without the physical we are not unhappy fucks.

I knew there was another word besides Limbo. However, there seems to be some disagreement on whether or not Purgatory is a "little Hell" filled with suffering and fire.

Well, it is considered a state of suffering. However, it is TEMPORAL suffering. The souls in Purgatory are Saved, & will be admitted into Heaven, EVENTUALLY. Hell is eternal, & the souls that go there are beyond Saving from Christ.

And does everyone who goes to Heaven have to go to Purgatory first?

Many souls go straight to Heaven, after death.

So you're mixing Christianity with Buddhism? We'd still have our consciousness, though? It seems unimaginable but I guess that's where faith steps in.

No, my question is general. I'm not presupposing everyone here is Christian.

No, my question is general. I'm not presupposing everyone here is Christian. Bottom line is you don't know what comes after death until you're dead so that's when I'll worry about it.
