Is it as bad as Indian audiences make it out to be?

I liked that movie. I would probably enjoy the takedown as well.

Depends on what mindset you adopt while seeing it. It is hard to describe what is bad about it. I think the problem with the movie is the plot. If you don't follow closely, you won't understand what is happening. It is basically a comedy movie that adds sarcasm and humour together. 'Dehli Belly' followed the same path. If you notice there is a lot of jokes made on Indian standard of living. I don't what people in India make of this. The film was too long 1 hour 50 minutes. The tone of the movie I could say was some what similar to Coen bros stuff.

how about how you explain why delhi belly was any good? I need to revisit both. I agree with you man. How come people hail Bombay Boys and diss Boom? As for the acting of the models. they were supposed to be total ditzes. It was far more intelligent than most commercial movies of the early 2000s. It was mostly the prudish Indian audiences who really couldn't stomach it.

Bombay boys is a more quality film. It has a distinct standard and the production quality is much better. The movie is more aimed towards the n.r.i market. It was way ahead of it's time. It provides us with the inside view of indian life, which in this case is 'mumbai life'. There is a lot to take from the film. From my personal experience and journey that I have gone through in life, I would agree with the messages the movie portrays.

Man, I am pretty sure Boom had a higher budget. So, with the same director (who was inexperienced) and lower budget, could the production quality have been significantly better? Anyway, I will have to revisit both films. I don't think I have a print of Bombay Boys with me.

man, im warning you. BOOM isnt worth the effort. BOMBAY BOYS was better. even the misanthropic NASEERUDDIN SHAH (who usually hates his own films) admitted that he was quite fond of the film.

what about JACKPOT (2013)? it has a lower rating than BOOM on IMDB. BOOM has 2.3, while JACKPOT has 2.2. could be the sachiin joshi effect.

Jackpot is pure filth. It doesn't even try to be anything else. probably, Gustad was conning Joshi.
