ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN PART 1 3/10 I killed myself, because I wanted to go to Hell. They told me no and sent me to Heaven. They also told me no and sent me back to Earth. Well, now that I have extra free time, I might as well write this. A lot of animated sequels have brighter lighting and colors due to a combination of a lower budget and a lack of courage to be dark when needed. Since the plot and tone in ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN PART 1 didn't really require a dark atmosphere (at least as dark as other Don Bluth movies), the muddy palette felt unnecessary. Therefore, the shinier and more colorful animation in ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN PART 2 didn't bother me. In fact, a lot of the backgrounds are beautiful. They seem like unfinished drawnings, but I'm pretty sure it was a stylistic choice (they resemble paintings) rather than a monetary obstacle. Most of the songs are catchier (which wasn't hard, considering how bad they were in the 1st installment) and the villain is more memorable. Unfortunately, the plot is nothing special and the way in which characters and events from the previous movie are ignored is annoying. I'm still trying to figure out why Sasha falls for Charlie, since the movie doesn't show a real reason. Why did she forget about his "miracle kiss"? She had the right to be angry. 3/10 AN ALL DOGS CHRISTMAS CAROL 1/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
