In terms of the one's claim that the NK doesn't exist in the books, that's just not true. We do learn about him in the books. The NK hasn't appeared in the books as far as we know, but he does exist. You just can't get a book idiot to talk without showing stupidity. There was a Night's King in the books, who is not the same as the Night King of the show (see the difference in spelling, idiot? Look again). There are even statements by GRRM that the old Night's King could not possibly be around anymore.

There is no Night King in the books and White Walkers can speak, albeit in an icy, screeching manner. They do in the Prologue. As to Craster, he is likely only the last of a long list and there are convincing hints at an older practice of delivering bastards through the "Snow Gate" until that fort was closed down after the visit of a Targaryen queen. There are fan theories that the "right of first night" was once the bastard making measure to supply the north with baby boys. Stannis will fall long before Daenerys turns up. He is already in deep trouble in the last book, suffering through the snow and facing disagreement from a part of his army, telling them to "pray harder" when they ask that sacrifices be made to the Lord of Light. Details will differ but the end will be similar. Shireen will burn and Stannis will die. The Blackfish was sacrificed as so many other things in S6. If the show is ever remade, it will undoubtedly have more of the juvenile junk of the original. Not a good thing. Hi Leo , hope al is well , that's an interesting fan theory ,since on the show they went into the trouble introducing the NK , crafter ,baby boys etc.. They should have at least explain some of it . Yes, the show considerably dropped in consistency after S5. Back in S2, when Craster was introduced, it was quite strange to see this elaborate, strong housing they had and Commander Mormont's knowledge of Craster as well as his tolerance of him were seen as an open point by many, an apparent "plot hole" that awaited resolution. I always thought Craster's Keep was the work of builders of the Night's Watch, not of Craster and his daughters. The man who was made to value a small axe of "proper steel" in his first appearance did not even have the tools to build it. There is further theory in the book fandom that Craster is a bastard, son of some highborn from the Night's Watch, which is why he takes offence at being called one by Karl Tanner. I know Karl Tanner does not exist in the books but I wonder if the bastard calling scene occurs. EDIT: yes, some Karl calls him a bastard in the books and it starts the fighting.
