How would you rate Michael Landon as an actor?
He was good in Little House on the Prairie but that is really the only role i have seen him in, And 4-5 episodes of Bonanza.
So based on that i would say he was a good actor.

Another vote for adequate. He could project that kind of affable persona that television viewers like, and he was handsome for those who go for his type. That was really all an actor like him needed to parlay into a long-running tv career. Not the sort I could have ever pictured as being able to carry off a major role in a theatrical feature.

He was an adequate TV actor for his era. He couldn't have made the transition to movies, and in today's world he probably couldn't even be successful on TV.

I probably watched every episode of Little House on the Prairie and later Highway to Heaven growing up. I always thought he was great. I was never much into TV westerns though so probably only caught a few episodes of Bonanza. I did see his early role starring in I was a Teenage Werewolf. Great television actor but I suppose he didn't have the on screen presence for movies.

He was in "Wanted: Dead or Alive", and so were about 30 pre-stars.

He was a good cryer on Highway to Heaven. Always knew when to turn on the water works.
