That is why I don’t go to Super Bowl parties, you can’t focus on the game. I can, but I go to a party where the majority of people are fans.

I think unlike the Saints, the Chiefs have a good defensive backfield (pass defense). They could afford to concentrate on the 9er running game. And the 49ers couldn't compensate. I was at a Super Bowl party, TVs were on, sound was off, people were talking, eating and drinking, so I couldn't pay real close attention. But I seem to remember the 9er running game bogging down before they started passing a lot (unsuccessfully) in the 4th quarter. Maybe the Chiefs made adjustments that cut off the 9er running game. That could be a reason why they stopped running. That is why I don’t go to Super Bowl parties, you can’t focus on the game. Yes the Chiefs do have a solid pass defense, adding in Tyrann Mathieu was huge for them, he made their secondary a lot better. They also did a good job of covering Kittle, I still think the Niners should’ve tried to get him more involved but they limited him. Believe it or not, I went to a Super Bowl party the year the Saints won the Super Bowl. But --- I taped the game on my VCR. And I watched that sucker 400 times until the tape wore out. No need for tape recorders anymore. I don't think they even make VCRs anymore. And everything is available on YouTube. Everything from game highlights to full games !!! But you are correct, don't fool yourself into thinking you could watch any game closely at a football party. |

Chiefs now 4 playoff games in a row behind big early. Weird they didn't learn from last year's AFC title game, I suppose practice helps.
Kyle Shanahan & Jimmy G gonna have a long off-season... I can't pick them to make the NFC title game next year.
If they were told last July they'd be in the SB, tied with 3 timeouts nearing the half, & they burn it all for junk... they'd punch their future selves in the throat.
