9,000! Just 1,000 more until promotion!
If this movie happens, Ford will be 78-79 by the time the movie goes into production.
Don't give up on Indiana Jones cracking that whip one more time!
Fans have now been waiting for the franchise to right the wrongs of the much-maligned Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for more than a decade now, with no luck in terms of an actual film taking shape.
In a positive sign, producer Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that her team is still very hard at work on Indiana Jones 5 when she accepted her BAFTA Fellowship over the weekend.
"We're working away, getting the script where we want it to be," she told BBC News. "And then we'll be ready to go."
Asked to once again shoot down those rumours about the next movie being a "reboot", Kennedy insisted: "Oh no, Harrison Ford will be involved. It's not a reboot. It's a continuation… He can't wait. He absolutely is [up for it]."
Last year, Harrison Ford denied any suggestion that Chris Pratt could take over the titular role in a future Indy movie, insisting: "Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones, don't you get it? I'm Indiana Jones.
"When I'm gone, he's gone. It's easy. Get it in [your head]." Since Ford made those comments, Jurassic Park and Spider-Man screenwriter David Koepp confirmed that he is back working on Indiana Jones 5 after previously departing the project.
Keep in mind that David Koepp also wrote Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in addition to Jurassic Park and Spider-Man films. We'll let you decide if his involvement in the next movie is good news or not.
Indiana Jones 5 is currently scheduled to be released by Disney on July 9, 2021.

I hate to say it. But it’s far more likely that Harrison Ford will die before this goes into production.

If they do indeed make a 5th Movie then just based on Ford's age, It will have to take place in the 1970's.

Indiana Jones takes on the disco scene.

I hate to say it. But it’s far more likely that Harrison Ford will die before this goes into production. Crazy Kathleen is hoping for that so it will be easy to gender swap the character into ISABELLA Jones.

Or bring the series full circle with him helping Israeli agents (led by John Krasinski perhaps?) track down ex-Nazis in South America. The macguffin could be the Holy Lance or the Lost Menorah. It’s probably gonna be something more outrageous like him discovering Atlantis-which canonically already happened in 1939. Good comic.

More likely in the scenario that Ford dies, someone like Chris Pratt or Chris Pine will be offered the part in two, three years.

She'll probably have a shirt that says "The Jones Is Female" to troll fans with.

Seeing how Ford looked in The Rise of Skywalker (2019) I feel we're too late. He looked better in 2015. I still want them to make it though and feel they could make one more good one (or even two) if they ever got the right script(s).
