What a monster deal!
I've always been a fan of Capela, as shadyvsesham knows, and now he gets the privilege of being an Atlanta Hawk.
The Hawks have been absolutely terrible at center, so this is huge.

Sounds like a deal full of numerous scrubs being swapped to me.

Sounds like a deal full of numerous scrubs being swapped to me. It's the biggest deal in NBA history involving a bunch of players and teams that absolutely no one cares about.

So what's Houston going to do for an inside rebounding presence? Are they planning to acquire Drummond and see if he can average 20 RPG?

I fail to see how this is a mega deal - unless we're talking about the # of teams involved and # of players - it's filled with a bunch of middling players who've hopped teams periodically - none of these players are stars.

Mega-Deal/Blockbuster are just overused terms the Media have wielded so much they've bled the meaning out of them.

Dantoni likes those small lineup teams. He's got one now.

Yeah. It's the most in a deal in 20 years. Pretty big.
Also, there's a first and 2nd round pick in there, and I wouldn't exactly call Capela a scrub. Nor Covington.
Soundsd like you're a Hawks hater that is jealous we got Capela.

You're right - I wanted another big on the Sixers.

Damnit. Who do we even have as a center. Jesus... I dont really see how this deal makes sense for the Rockets or the Nuggets honestly. I mean, Rockets are playoff bound and decide they dont need a quality center? It boggles my mind.

We also ditched Nene. So only center we got is Tyson Chandler. Wtf We were 10-1 in the season without Capela and and 22-17 without him. Capela was not adding much value. Removing him will free up space for Westbrook and Harden to get more 3 point shooters involved. That said PJ as a center can't really defend against guys like Giannis. Capela at least could defend well against Jokić kind of guys. But overall, this trade doesn't make Rockets worse off or better off unless they get something valuable in the $12 m that they have freed up because of this trade.

Know who can defend The Greek Freak?
Al Horford - want him?
With our recent move - hopefully another trade coming - we could be dumping KOQ and Bolden too - there's two more bigs we'll send your way
We need to get a 3rd team involved to get a starting Combo Guard back - unless that's Burks we just got.
Smart move may be to start Burks and move Al to the bench to backup Joel so he's saved for the playoffs to defend Giannis - will also balance out the Starting 5 more.
Mike Scott can also play a bit of 5 depending on matchups if the opposition is playing small ball - we'll send you him too

We should play Hartenstein more. I think adding Covington is going to improve our defence in the long run. May be we can defend like we did in 2017-18 WC finals. Brilliant win today.

It’d be funny if during the Hawks’ next home game some fan holds up a homemade sign that reads WELCOME CLINT but the L and the I were too close together.
