Not sure what Kitty Wynn (Panic In Needle Park, The Exorcist) is doing now but she left a very promising career.

Not sure what Kitty Wynn (Panic In Needle Park, The Exorcist) is doing now but she left a very promising career. dunno but …this Kitty Winn is the Granddaughter of General George C. Marshall, wartime Chief of Staff in World War II. She later sold the painting "A View of Tinherir" by Sir Winston Churchill which had been given to Gen. Marshall by the famous British Prime Minister; the painting sold at auction for $1.2 million in 2006. Maybe she just retired and stayed home counting her money . Last TV / movie credit is 1984.

On threads that ask of favorite performances by an actress, I usually say Kitty Wynn in Panic In Needle Park. At the time of its release (1971), many critics raved about her work and added that Pacino was pretty good too.

Bo Derek too, though she makes a movie every now and then. As you said, Bo is still working in showbusiness so OT for this thread BUT: according to her IMDb page she seems to be living on her Horse ranch and spending much of her time as an "animal activist" AND "NRA member and avid hunter" "Animal rights activist and supporter of the Republican Party. Member of the NRA and a regular hunter. Close friend and vocal supporter of former NRA president Charlton Heston." Has her own pampering pet care product company: "Bo Derek's Bless the Beasts", products in the range include numerous nourishing dog shampoos and conditioners, fragrances and fur polish.

Peter Ostrum played Charlie Bucket in WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, one of history’s most beloved family films. It was his only role. Following the film, his family acquired a horse and his life changed forever. He followed his love of animals and eventually received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. He is currently a veterinarian in upstate New York and, just as Willy said, “he lived happily ever after”.

KELLY RENO This one is sad but .. NO he didn't die ! The son of cattle ranchers Bud and Ruth, Reno had been riding horses since he could walk. This experience qualified him for his role in The Black Stallion (1979), which he tried out for when his mother learned of the open audition. Both of his parents accompanied him to the filming location, and enjoyed the experience, but it was also disruptive to the family life. Kelly only appeared in three films before high school graduation in 1984. After graduation, he planned on acting more, and acquired a new agent. His plans were put on hold when his pickup truck was hit by an 18-wheeler and he suffered severe injuries. After a long recovery period he had lost most of his film connections. Reno is now a certified truck driver, and drives an 18-wheeler like the one that ended his acting career.

Does Reno drive a BLACK truck?
The Bo Derek info leaves me thinking WTF?
Rob Bottin, the SPFX guy responsible for the Howling, the Thing, reportedly went into real estate too. He has one uncredited citation for a Games of Thrones episode.

BUTTERFLY McQUEEN semi-retired from "Hollywood" … She stopped acting in films in 1947, but appeared in the TV series Beulah (1950). When not appearing on Broadway and occasional TV and film roles, she worked as a taxi dispatcher, a real-life maid, a companion to an elderly white woman, a seamstress, and a department store salesperson.

Seeing all the actors who became politicians almost makes me think that pretending to be someone else was good training for.... Nah!

PAUL PETERSON played Jeff Stone on The Donna Reed Show and became one of the teen heartthrobs of the day. After his career fizzled out in the late 1960s, he enrolled at college and started writing adventure novels (penning 16 books in all). For 10 years, he ran his own limousine service. In 1990 Paul formed "A Minor Consideration", a child-actor support group, an outreach organization that oversees the emotional, financial and legal protection of kids and former kids in show business. 1958

Louisa (Heather Menzies) ... married actor Robert Urich after his death. Shocking! Who would have believed one of those sweet children would have grown up into a necrophiliac. Google says: "While necrophilia has been outlawed in many states, New Mexico, Nebraska, Vermont, and others still allow it."

Anglo-Ghanaian actor Jaye Davidson's career had an unusual profile. He had had no acting experience or training, and was working as a fashion assistant when he was 'spotted' and offered a key role in The Crying Game (1992) dir: Neil Jordan. The modestly budgeted movie was a massive critical and financial success and it was Davidson who made it so distinctive. He could not act, but he did not have to, just "be himself". The movie won an Oscar for Best Screenplay and Davidson was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. He said he hoped he would not win, as he was not an actor and it would be unfair to those who were. He did not. Two years later his second movie followed. He accepted one million dollars and third billing in Stargate (1994), another big money-maker, and again it was Davidson who most people remembered from the movie (though not necessarily his name). And that was it. He then resumed working as a fashion assistant, and appeared again in only a couple of short movies to oblige friends. Nothing like quitting while you are ahead.

Peggy DowDow began her career in 1949, co-starring with Scott Brady in UNDERTOW. She was also Nurse Green in HARVEY, Arthur Kennedy's love interest in BRIGHT VICTORY, and Farley Granger's in I WANT YOU. After appearing in those and a few other films in the 1950s, she married Walter Helmerich III in 1951 and opted for married life rather than a career. She and her husband moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they had five sons and twelve grandchildren. In 1998 she received an honorary degree from the University of Oklahoma for her devotion to improving health care education and cultural events in Tulsa. She helped establish the Tulsa Library Trust and the Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award given each year to writers on behalf of the Tulsa community. The University of Oklahoma School of Drama is named after Ms. Peggy Dow Helmerich.

William Haines - top star in 1930, and the first MGM Star to starred in a talkie. When the return to morality hit the film community, Haines was ordered by LB Mayer to leave his partner Jimmy Shields and marry a woman. To his great credit, Haines refused and left acting. He became a very successful interior decorator and stayed with Jimmy for 50 years.

Louisa or Heather Menzies ... married actor Robert Urich after his death. Really? Do they allow that in the USA? Some tax-evasion dodge, I suppose?
