Honestly, the film was underwhelming, there were only 2 scenes that I really enjoyed. One involving Black Mask and a table, the other re Harley and Cass in a shop. Can't say more on that, not because it's spoilery but because I want you to experience it for yourself. There may have been a third scene but I cant remember it.
Do I have a favourite character in this film? No, not really. Yeah..that was a surprise to me too. Not even Harley? Well...the writing is meh. The script failed Robbie, she still performed well in my opinion. I mean sure some characters had their 'moments' I guess...Montoya wore a t-shirt at one point, maybe more than one occasion. It read, "I shaved my balls for this.".......
Now for the action, I only liked the scene where it involved Harley, just before the pier segment. Choreography, some good ideas in there but executed in a mediocre fashion.
What were the problems with this film? Let me do a reverse by answering what was good about it? Not much like I said above. The music was fine? From a general audience POV, I suppose it couldve been enjoyable..this movie just doesnt really leave a mark
Before I was defending this film from people saying they are nothing like the comic characters. Well, thats because I expected more substance in the finished product ie the entire film. I mean, it cant possibly be just like this? Script is indeed king, like it always is. Montoya, Huntress, Black Mask and Cass were in the film. Just the spirit of those characters was absent. Cass was the least like her comic version which was very disappointing and surprising (re my more substance comment).
The version of storytelling they used just didnt work either which made it even worse as the script is already lacking. Other films use this technique expertly but you need to know how to use it. Overall this film just doesnt know what it wants to be, throw a bit of this and that and hopefully something sticks. Distract the audience with enough whatever it is they are trying to do so they dont notice how weak the script and the characters actually are. The politics didnt help either but at least it wasnt too glaring.

He thinks a woman is laughing at him so he has her stand on a table & dance. Then he said her dress is ugly & orders the guy with her to cut it off. That get you hard? At least 3 scenes. There were some excellent kick ass fight scenes. Unless chicks beating up guys is too unrealistic for you. Never been a DC gal so I don't know the characters outside of Harley from Suicide Squad. I thought they worked. It wants to be Deadpool. Oh, the politics was pretty blatant.

What the hell? Seriously? No, for me it was the only time when Black Mask was actually intimidating. It doesnt matter if it was a woman or a man...
Stop trying to label me...they just werent that good. Ive seen better. For example, Kill Bill but I guess the protagonist is a guy...oh wait..
Not to me unless youre looking for an excuse to get triggered. Ive seen films that are more political ie Joker, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Sorry to Bother You. To me it was more like sprinkles than anything overly preachy

@red I’m with you, it’s not that agenda driven. It’s more of a hijinks movie until the third act.

I love it more every time I see it.
There are a lot of obvious flaws but I guess I don't care? There's a lot that works for me.
I've never been a fan of Harley, but between this movie and the Harley Quinn show, I'm a wee bit obsessed now.
Easily one of my favourite comic book movies in the last 10 years. I've been so bored with this genre until this film.
It's easily the prettiest too.
