Marathon running or the Tour de France. Nascar. That's actually true. Naturally everybody I'd chiming with obvious answers of low interest sports and individual sports, when the question was posed about team sports with big fan bases. So itβs not female jello wrestling? Either some of you didn't get the memo I put in the OP: Or else you are being silly on purpose that is not as obvious as Frank is being.

If just limited to the four major sports, then I would have to say baseball.

If just limited to the four major sports, then I would have to say baseball. In America, it might be. There is also rugby, though not as popular and we have lacrosse. Some say or want cheerleading to be recognized more as a sport. I think there have been plots to murder by moms over that one.

Hold on a sec - if you are contemplating including LACROSSE and CHEERLEADING as a βmajorβ sport, then donβt go disparaging Cricket as not a major sport. More people worldwide watched the Cricket World Cup final last year than the Super Bowl last week....

Far too many games of cricket have been called off due to crowd behaviour, especially in the Caribbean and the Indian Sub continent but even in Australia, for me to say cricket has a nice fan base.
For me it's surfing. A group of people sitting on a beach watching some pros catch some waves is usually pretty laid back stuff.

Melbourne 99. Kingston '78. That riot spilled outside the stadium and people died.
To be honest the behaviour of Melbourne and especially Perth crowds for much of the 1990s was nothing short of disgraceful. Never a game called off at Perth but 3 or 4 years in a row they pelted the Aussie team with garbage as they walked off after losses. Poor performances each time but that doesn't justify their idiotic anti social behaviour.
