"You get popped in the a-- with a syringe on TV and dress up like a teddy bear and DDT people and s--t like that. I remember one time standing in the ring in a bear suit for some reason. I can't even explain to you why I'm standing in the ring in a bear suit, and I DDT'd The Miz or something and take off my bear hat. It's like, you know, you get the Pavlovian kind of response like, 'Yay,' but I remember just thinking, like, 'This is so stupid. This is not even, like, funny or entertaining.' I just remember standing there feeling like I hit rock bottom. 'I'm just done. This sucks.' I'm just like, 'What have I become in this bear suit?' I've had many moments like that."

“Dean Ambrose is a great talent and even crazier outside the ring.”
- Alberto Del Rio, Goliath
“The thing is with Moxley is that you don’t know what the hell he’s gonna do. He is the weirdest human being I’ve ever met in my life. I wouldn’t past him to do a fight with the UFC at this point. No one really knows what Jon Moxley’s gonna do."

Jon Moxley V Alberto Del Rio
If I was a promoter I'd rather not deal with his BS Fair enough. I don't really follow the backstage stuff but I know it's all go in the wild world of wrestling entertainment. Bleacher Report listed Alberto Del Rio as their number 1 free agent for AEW to look at in January 2019, before he went on to find new employment in Mexico, but that's because they consider him talented. I'd like to see him reignite old feuds, including a bigtime clash with Jon Moxley (they're just about my two favourite wrestlers) and taking down the Rhodes brothers.
"Alberto El Patron, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio in WWE, might not be the most popular wrestler in the world thanks to some of his activities outside the ring, but there is no denying how talented he is. AEW is going to need credible names when it launches to attract fans and show the world it wants to be taken seriously. As a former WWE, CMLL and TNA/GFW world champion, El Patron has the resume to match his technical skills, which are among the best in the business. Even if he is only a short-term hire to bring some eyes to the product, El Patron would be a valuable addition to the roster."

I always felt my friends underrated Del Rio as a wrestler but he's gotten himself fired from WWE, TNA and AAA at least. AEW could use the star power but I don't think they have the right people in charge to even deal with him.

He's a loose cannon but sometimes I think the press purposefully winds these things up. People attacked him a lot over the whole Paige affair but I saw no proof of any major wrongdoing, I think she went for him at an airport which was caught on tape, they were a bit of a car wreck but that's their business. Then TNA suspended him over the allegation I think, her family got involved, all very messy. He then left America for personal reasons and returned home to Mexico. I just think the whole thing was a mess, based upon what I saw reported on wrestling networks. I understand wrestlers are no angels, it's a hard-knock life on the road. Plus, everybody goes through dark periods in their lives, you just have to pick up the pieces and move on.
Sure, he smacked a dude backstage at WWE, but said dude was alleged to have made a racist remark; that wouldn't excuse such a reaction, but look at all the crap a guy like Randy Orton's alleged to have done, yet he's still money? Del Rio has that fiery latin temper and can be his own worst enemy, and unusually for a Mexican wrestler, he combines the Mexican tradition of technical artistery with a sizeable frame, is said to be around 6'4" tall, like Moxley.
Anyway, shall see what happens. I'm all about AEW and Impact at the moment. I'd also like to see Kevin Owens join AEW at some point and get back to being hardcore. Love that guy (and he's definitely no angel).

Like I say, plenty of wrestlers have grizzly histories. I don't follow all that stuff, I just watch the wrestling. But this allegation, which I just read about in Forbes, is way, way worse than anything I'd heard him accused of before now. It makes me think of a horrific sequence in 'L.A. Confidential' (1997). Very disturbing.
I think he's a talented wrestler. Chris Benoit was a talented wrestler and he got airbrushed out of WWE history for his crimes. If Del Rio's guilty of these charges, I hope he's put away for life. The allegations are truly sickening.

Jon Moxley follows AEW Championship defense against Jake Hager with physical 2nd Title Defense against Brodie Lee Jon Moxley left nobody in any doubt that this match was personal. In the build-up, he had to take on Brodie Lee's chief assassin at 'Dynamite', the wrestler known as 10, an elite knight of the dark order sent on a "search and destroy" mission. Moxley used three blistering moves on 10 to sabotage his head, executing one move after another and refusing to be rushed, all the while operating in a cold, clinical and systematic manner, before breaking his arm with metal chairs.
Moxley's been thrown through a glass pane and bloodily ground into the canvas by Brodie Lee in Combat Zone Wrestling, he's been powerbombed out of the ring and through a ladder by Lee at WWE's Wrestlemania 31 event, and he's been brutally attacked by Lee's entire dark order in All Elite Wrestling. It's a bitter rivalry that's raged across decades, one that seethes with the bad blood you see frothing from both men's mouths. These men do not like each other.
Moxley vowed to decimate the entire division if it meant getting a chance to brutalise Lee and he was true to his word. In the end, Moxley took Lee down through the rampway with him, before choking the monster out as the blood literally flowed out of his head ...

Jon Moxley wears down Brian Cage in successful AEW Championship defense against the Machine
This match was hard graft for both men but the better grappler claimed the prize. The AEW commentary team said Brian Cage had spent a long time out due to major surgery, taking a similar path to Jon Moxley's long road back after reconstructive shoulder surgery, a time in which Moxley also experienced life-threatening complications in hospital.
Moxley dedicated this victory to his friend and fellow wrestler Danny Havoc; he wore a t-shirt in tribute to Havoc. I think this same t-shirt has gone on sale to raise money for Havoc's family.
"Danny Havoc was not just a fearless and creative performer but also a talented artist and graphic designer. In fact I asked him to design the first AEW Mox shirt, he created the grenade design."

Jon Moxley sends Darby Allin to hell in successful AEW Championship defense against the skate punk
Okay, for all his obvious talent, I'll show no sympathy here. Jon Moxley's been pissed for obvious reasons and some unexpected time on the quarantine shelf has conversely led him to recover his physical dynamism. Last week's surprise piledriver and cutter were poetry in motion, and he topped them with some exquisite wrestling moves right here./
Even with outside assistance and a few free shots, the challenger needed to be schooled, and this was an education he will never forget (assuming he's not brain damaged).

Jon Moxley beats Maxwell Jacob Friedman at his own game to retain the AEW Championship having reached #1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's 'Top 500' Index for 2020
PWI 500 - Top 10 Ranking
1. Jon Moxley 2. Adam Cole 3. Chris Jericho 4. Drew McIntyre 5. Tetsuya Naito 6. Kazuchika Okada 7. Cody Rhodes 8. Seth Rollins 9. Kofi Kingston 10. AJ Styles
One of the things I like about Jon Moxley is his versatility inside and outside the ring. He's a strong technical wrestler and proven grappler, he's a formidable brawler and a hardcore expert, and he can adapt his style to suit his opposition. In doing so, he often brings the best out of his opponent. We saw this with his match against Darby Allin and even moreso with his match against obnoxious dork Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Few people expected to witness the intensity levels brought by MJF and flex muscleman Wardlow but it was needed to take on Moxley. This was one of my favourite wrestling contests of the year, I was gripped from start to finish. MJF, the jocular heel, has been banished by Moxley and replaced by a prize wrestler straight out the top drawer.

Jon Moxley ends Eddie Kingston in successful AEW Championship defense
Jon Moxley got called out by obnoxious loudmouth Eddie Kingston which resulted in a title shot for the serving AEW manager. Kingston and Tazz wield far too much power backstage to not gain these types of advantages. During the match, Kingston showed he has some lethal palm strikes and back-handed slaps, but fatigue got to him. It was an old school execution as Moxley pummeled his opponent before squeezing him out. This was sweet for Moxley who'd had to listen to Kingston's blathering for far too long already, though Kingston had the last laugh when his and Tazz's goons took down Moxley, Darby Allin and Will Hobbs to end the broadcast.

Jon Moxley takes down The Butcher in successful AEW Championship defense
Just to emphasise how much power he holds at All Elite Wrestling, Eddie Kingston hand-picked an opponent for Jon Moxley's latest title defense. He sent the Butcher to punish Moxley, which he did. Moxley persevered and took down the big man. It wasn't pretty but he got the job done.

Jon Moxley takes down the monster Lance Archer in another successful AEW Championship defense
This was Jon Moxley taking care of business the hard way. Apparently, these two warhorses have wrestled in Japan. Lance Archer posed a serious challenge to Moxley's reign and the match took its toll on both men, but Moxley displayed moxie by continually luring Archer outside the ring. Once it became a braincrushing streetfight, Moxley brought the monster down to his knees. Great match-up.
