Anybody still watch em?
I have scattered memories of several of them that all blend together but I just watched Police Academy 2 and thought it was fun. I feel like there are eras of comedy and it was fun to go back to a different one that had different beats and timing.

The Police Academy films were a major part of my childhood. I just got the DVD sets not too long ago. They are great fun. With the exception of part 7 which is just lame.

I've always enjoyed the fifth one which is the one where they go to Miami. It might even be the best of the sequels in my estimation. Sure, it's nothing great, but it's fun if you turn off your brain and enjoy.

I enjoy the first 2. I gave up after that. The only other one I saw was 5, which I was dragged along too. Can't say I was too impressed.

LOL! Interesting timing on this discussion...
I'm just about to watch the First one again... and I'll probably watch the others ones after that.

I half-watched the first one years ago. Didn't really appeal to me then, but I may revisit it again someday and give it a second chance.

Fairly alright, though I'd be terrified of revisiting.
Thinking about it, they never made it past the VHS era for me. They must've been on 80's tv a billion times, & were rentals whenever being babysat or whatever. Might not have watched one later than 1991 or something.
As a kid, only the Police Academy series was more disorienting for which installment I was watching than the Star Wars trilogy. Keep in mind, my SW exposure was walking into birthday parties with them playing on tv/VHS... I'd no idea which was what until I bought them myself in the 90's.

I think the original is an excellent film and I have it on dvd. I don't have any of the sequels but I'd happily watch one on television. They became more family-orientated as the series progressed and it steadily lots its bite (as well as series regulars).

I like them. They remind me of the ‘Carry On’ film series, which I am very fond of. I particularly like the man who does all those sound effects.
