I blame The Fandom Menace!
I think that STUDIOS need to start fighting back against them.
The Fandom Menace (in particular, the ones on YOUTUBE) is clearly motivated to make sure almost Every New MAJOR Movie or New TV Series coming out (in particular, ones that will either have or just even look like it will have any of that SJW stuff in them) fails and makes those Studios lose lots and lots of money and credibility.
Seriously, I think that this is the very first time that there has been a Large Movement of people that have been fully committed to intentionally sabotaging how almost any New MAJOR Movie or TV Series ends up performing. The STUDIOS need to start fighting back.
The More that they don't, The More Successful The Fandom Menace will be.
I think that the STUDIOS need to start challenging the credibility of those in The Fandom Menace that have been calling them out and spreading rumors or lies and they have a Great Advantage over The Fandom Menace if they did that. The only thing that The Fandom Menace has right now (besides keeping their own money) are words but the Studios have more than just words, they have proof that can be seen with the audience's own eyes.
In order for people to believe something about somebody or something then words are just not good enough (especially in this day and age), people have to have proof if they are going to believe something and that proof cannot be words, it has to be something that people can actually see with their own eyes and that is something that Studios can actually do.
Any time any member of The Fandom Menace (on YOUTUBE) says something that isn't true, The Studio can release their own Video (on YOUTUBE) from the set of that New Movie or TV Series and show everybody and let them all see with their own eyes what is true and what isn't true.
Like that famous saying goes....."seeing is believing".
If Studios began doing that more and more then I believe that it would then eventually over time lead to the end of The Fandom Menace or at the very least put them back where they belong which is in the very small minority.

I blame The Fandom Menace! Isn't that just people deciding not to see films they don't want to see. That's basic economics. If you have a product people don't like, they won't consume/buy your product. There's no point arguing about the political motivations of either party.

I think Doctor Sleep bombed because no one knew if it was a remake or a sequel of the Shining. I saw BOP last night. It felt like it was trying to be the DC version of Deadpool 2, but couldn’t figure out what made Deadpool work. I also really didn’t think the movie was all that woke. It wasn’t a horrible movie, it just wasn’t one I’d go see again.

Looks like the toxic WOMANbabies these movies are made for need to get off Twitter and buy a movie ticket. The problem is, those people don't actually watch movies, they just form mobs and make topics trend on the internet all day every day.

Mate yo blame the Fandom Menace for fucking everything, if lightning struck a studio HQ you would blame the Fandom Menace, it's idiotic.
This just seems another case of studios misunderstanding what people want, and overestimating how big of a draw something is, the argument for a few weeks or months I have heard regarding why this had to be a Harley centric film is because without her no one would care, but look at Marvel they have made huge tentpole films with characters most casual fans know nothing about, they simply know how to market those movies right, I saw a bunch of the trailers for BOP and all I took away from it was Harley was in a new movie...kind of because she's also not exactly looking like she did in Suicide Squad, I have said this with a bunch of the promotional stuff for this movie if I did not already know about this movie I wouldn't know about this movie, the marketing has been terrible at making me want to watch this film or have any clue what it is about, that's nothing to do with the fandom that's the studios being incompetent and overconfident at the same time.
I hope this film picks up steam as a lot of reviews I heard were very positive so hopefully word of mouth helps, but good thing is this wasn't a $150-250m blockbuster it was an $85m movie, so it could be similar to Shazam where it needs to reportedly only make $250m to break even, probably a little closer to $300m but with a $100-110m opening weekend that's not too far off, also it's done better domestically than Dark Fate did opening weekend wise and it went on to gross almost $270m, so BOP has a shot to not flop.

On the bright side, it might get to TNT or FX sooner. Or, if it's bad enough, The SyFy channel.

I wasn't interested in seeing it and the trailers did nothing to make me change my mind. And I'm generally more of a DC guy.
