Abrams knows he sabotaged SW and barely even tries to hide it.

Abrams knows he sabotaged SW and barely even tries to hide it. A classy response. Rian Johnson should take note.

Firstly, I will give him major props for his professional response to the criticisms of his work.
In all honesty, I felt bad for J.J. Abrams and entire cast and crew of the The Rise of Skywalker, which I don't mean that in a condescending way. The film was definitely fighting an uphill battle with the divided(and passionate) fan base, a disjointed second chapter, a change of director, wrapping up both a trilogy and a saga, and 2 year production schedule. In short, I did not envy his task.
I would watch a "director's cut" if it were release sometime down the line. Though I wouldn't pay full price for it, at best I would rent it on Amazon.
