Wish I had HBO. Coming April 10. andre turning heel and turning his back on Hogan sent shockwaves around the world: I could never watch those things, or the matches. But Andre was pretty cool. This was good.

SHAFT (1971) I revisited early 7os New York City and enjoyed the scenery, groovy clothes, big cars, jive-arse dialogue and Issac Hayes' killer soundtrack. There were three SHAFT films with Richard Roundtree, I think, and this was the first one where Bumpy from Harlem hires Shaft to find his young daughter who has been taken by the Italian mob. When Bumpy arrives at Shaft's office Shaft isn't there, and Bumpy's henchman says "Cat say he gon' be here, he ain't here. Cat say he gon' be here, cat should be here."

Criminal(16) Fitting for the night. Recorded this a few weeks ago and never heard of it before. Brilliant! Had a bunch of Oscar winners in it(God I love TL Jones face) and Wonder Woman. Costner beating up West Ham fans and joking about Arsenal was a treat.

Sing Street(16) My favourite movie about a band will always be The Commitments(91) but this really comes close, it brought back many memories of being in a band, even this little MrFurious was in a thrash metal band back in the olden days and those memories of running to the tv on a Thu night to watch Top of the Pops, and of course those evil Christian Brothers, you had to be in Ireland to understand/avoid those fellas, can't recommend this movie enough, especially to music lovers that grew up in the 80's, ...in Ireland
This is proper music compared to that Eurovision crap!

Dunkirk(17) That Nolan trying to confuse us again. Not as good as I was expecting. A solid 8 though

Great Australian "western" epics
Mystery Road (2013) with Aaron Pedersen as an Aboriginal detective in the magnificent Aussie Outback Followed by a sequel Goldstone (2016) followed by a 6-part TV series also called Mystery Road (2018) co-starring the awesome Judy Davis. Compulsive viewing

Super Dark Times
Really rough small town teen drama that borders on horror. Saying what the conflict is would spoil it a bit, but I was sort of expecting a cheapie horror movie and got a solemn and unsettling and disturbing and effective drama. The ending gets a little more pulpy in a way, but it's still really solid and provocative.
