Fathom Events is increasingly sponsoring numerous movie screenings (as well as concerts, plays, opera and various other 'live' events) at movie theaters across the country on a regular basis. If you could choose any movie(s) to be shown on the big screen at a theater near you, what would you most like a chance to see ?? SAVE FERRIS

I've never seen Close Encounters of the Third Kind on the big screen
As far as spectacle goes, that's probably my first choice.

I've seen quite a few that Fathom brought back over the past few years.
One that would be quite impressive though (which probably will never happen) is
Strategic Air Command with James Stewart.
The aerial cinematography coupled with it being filmed in VistaVision would be impressive indeed!

HOW THE WEST WAS WON -- but only in the original Cinerama format.
(even with all three dividing camera lines and all -- although they were often hidden by trees and natural vistas)
The New York audience at its premiere were in awe at the start as the parting curtains opened -- and Opened -- and OPENED to practically envelope them.
And in the climactic sequence, as the train barreled down toward the helpless and trapped George Peppard -- everyone reflexively leaned back!

bravomailer Saw it again a few years ago on a BIG screen …. whoa ! had forgotten how visually spectacular it was. ALL of those BIG pictures really MUST be seen on the original sized screens to be enjoyed to their full potential. The multiplexes now .. some of the screens are so small you might as well stay at home where the popcorn is better and the annoying patrons are fewer.

I recently saw, and throughly enjoyed, The Handmaiden. I'd love to see it in a cinema.

I saw Titanic on the big (big for a multiplex big) screen. The audience laughed out loud as bodies bounced against the funnels. That was the last in-theater movie watching experience I have had. EXCEPT attended when the local restored movie palace (now theater and concerts) showed an old William Boyd film .. it had been the film shown when the theater first opened in 1927. WITH live Theater Organ accompaniment ! and the local high school showed a copy of Toy Story 4 on their quite large planetarium dome … does that count, I wonder !

I saw Fantasia in 1990. I was glad I caught it. They had to narrow the curtain to fit the ratio.
A community center up the street from my home ran "M" in a makeshift theater on 16mm. I was "compelled" into being the ticket taker.

If only for this shot A couple years ago, a local cinema showed Lawrence, Bridge on the River Kwai and Doctor Zhivago on the same day. My butt was sore for a couple days from sitting so long, but it was worth it
Ben Hur, for the chariot race

Spartacus - one of the few of my favourites I've not seen on the big screen.

If only for this shot I couldn't agree more. This movie has so many scenes that are breathtaking. I missed it a few times when it was re-released in the theater.

I would have love to see this 6+ hr Russian epic adaptation on big screen Six plus hours of subtitles might be a bit much, but I'd go to see the Battle of Borodino

The movie actually has less dialogue than you think. Some of scenes were spectacular. Talking about Napoleon, the 1927 5+ hrs restored Abel Gance's silent version of Napolean would be awesome to see on large screen especially if they are able retain the last sequence having one screen expanded to three screens.

The two vertical lines in the video version can be a bit distracting.

Other movies I wish I experienced on large screen: Though I am not too crazy about the movie as a whole. I think this one scene is definitely made for large screen. I might even love the movie if I have seen it on large screen
