Poor kitty! He looks so defeated. My country cat still patrols the yard in the snow and freezing weather. He comes in at night, but I don't understand how he can handle the cold. If we get a cold weather warning it's a challenge to keep him in, but I don't want him out in -40. He's very dedicated to his territory! When the weather's good he's outside full time. He'll come in to eat and that's it.

I actually get angry when I see people post that they never let their cat outside because it's too dangerous. A cat should not be imprisoned away from nature.

Its not like it's a big city where he risks getting hit. He loves the yard and doesn't venture far from his territory.

There were plenty of houses with big yards and our cats used the fences as highways. There was no real danger of them getting hit by cars. Sure, it happens. But it's not a risk which requires locking the cat up 24/7.

Why? Just... why?
See, if I lived in a place where even a quarter of that happened I would FUCKING MOVE!

I think you're mistaking winter with monsoon season, or a cement truck spill.
