I'm not going to argue with anyone about which films they prefer and why, but the 'Marvel is too formulaic' commentary is an incredibly ill informed perspective.
Yeah, that reasoning is getting tiring. The entire reason why the MCU is so successful is because they follow certain guidelines when making their films. And the fact that they're so successful should be a clue that their supposed formula is not actually a weakness but a strength. If there even is a formula. A lot of people describe the supposed "formula" and don't realize that that formula describes pretty much every action adventure movie. And quite a number of MCU movies don't even follow that same formula (like Civil War or Infinity War for example).

The true test will be how well the next few movies perform at the box office. I remember genuinely thinking Captain Marvel would flop from how Youtube comment sections looked.
