I looked it up. His name was Rob Bartlett. Had success in othet broadcasting, but pro wrestling was not his calling.

good guess - hos got it - was vader
did you know Vader and Bam Bam teamed in Japan?
there's some shoots on Youtube of Bammer make fun of Vader about how serious he took himself - and by a lot of other wrestlers - how he was a bully. Of course others have come out and defended Vader stating he was a big Teddy Bear - and others have called Bam Bam a bully as well.
RIP to both.
That's one of the things I enjoy about old school wrestling - all the backstories you hear from the performers - the real life drama behind the scenes of the carnival.

I knew both were big in Japan at times but never looked into it much further than that. I liked Bam Bam as a kid tho. He was a fat guy that was surprisingly agile. Very entertaining to watch. I never really got into ECW when he was a big name there tho.

I never really got into ECW when he was a big name there tho. He was huge when he first came to WWF - teamed with Hogan's team against Andre and other big men like Gang, Bundy in the Survivor Series. There's a match on Youtube against Andre at MSG where Andre taught him a legit lesson and roughed him up quite a bit.
He's a fascinating story how he bounced around and later came back to WWF - not really a top main event draw though although many claim his match vs. Lawrence Taylor was a big hit to his career - i.e. how can you put somebody over like LT when you're supposed to be a beast of a wrestler.
I loved when he came back to WCW and challenged Goldberg though - this is what made the Monday Night Wars great IMO - you never knew who was going to show up -
