Gabi is Mackenzie's match as a bone marrow donor and she uses that as leverage to avoid prison. 🙄 Of course she is and of course she does, even if the second part of that makes no sense. Why can't this show pace stories halfway decently anymore? They've dropped maybe one or two clues about Evan having a shady past - which will invariably turn out to reveal that he's David's father and also killed Jordan - but they've done so little with that, that it's going to turn into this rushed waste of time that they piece everything together with hardly any effort. Why even do it if it's not going to be an actual story that gets played out properly? They waste time with all this bullshit of Ben's half-assed escape and virtually no time on how they're going to exonerate him.

I can't even understand how Gabi is a match, talk about random. but it's stupid. Gabi is pretty evil and has tried to kill many people and never learns from her misdeeds. She definitely does not deserve a pass but this is a soap after all...
Totally agree, they sure are rushing this nonsense. So many wasted scenes of Ben and Ciara crying in the prison or Cylde threatening...could have been used to lay the foundation of how they exonerate him for sure. More wasted storytelling opportunity. I am sure we will see it all in "flasbacks."
I have to say, Freddie/Sonny's scenes last week ripping into Gabi were fantastic and looks like we will get more of the same as he rips into Maggie this week.

I mean, those types of things do happen; I'm exactly sure what sort of criteria that need to be matched when it comes to something like bone marrow transplant - blood type, ostensibly, but I'm pretty sure there are other factors that can make finding a match a lot more difficult than you would have with a simple blood transfusion. But it's not a genetic thing, so you can have people who are related or complete strangers be a match; whether for bone marrow or other things, like kidney or liver transplants. I'm pretty sure I've heard of medical drives or initiatives that encouraged people to get tested and become donors if they match with someone, even without a specific person in mind, since it can be like finding a needle in a continental sized haystack; and there are national databases that can and have matched people from opposite ends of the country, just because one person decided to get tested to see if they could help save somebody's life. It's the sort of thing that they could have done in the vein of some of the other social awareness stories they've done, like when JJ was going to commit suicide or other stories that kind of had a PSA. That said, there's virtually no reason for this to convince the DA to let Gabi go free all together. As it, it seems odd for the DA to even be offering a deal, when it's very clearly a slam dunk case for them. And seeing as how Gabi is already a one time convicted murderer, her attempted murder here makes her a repeat offender that should only mean worse jail time, not offering deals. If anything the 10 year sentence should be the incentive for agreeing to be the donor, but even that seems kind of dubious as an act good faith that might warrant a reduced jail sentence.

Gabi is terrible. One minute she's crying to Sonny about how she doesn't know what's wrong with her. Then she is leveraging for a deal and holding a baby's life over her parents' heads. She's trash.
