I like it , in so much that I've played it...about 5 hours into it so far.
I couldn't beat first one without a guide for the last 2/3 of the game though. This time, ima beat it blind.
Maybe.

Maybe. More of a DW4 fan. That game was epic back in the day. As an aside, the first Dragon Warrior game is fairly well-known for giving you false choice. When you save the princess from the first dungeon, she'll ask "Dost thou love me?" and you can answer yes or no. You cannot progress in the game unless you answer yes. So it's a meaningless illusion of choice. However... the final boss gives you a choice as well. He will ask you to join him and you can answer yes or no. I forget if it gives you a chance to second guess your decision, but if you answer yes, the text and text window frames will go red (like when you have very low health) and you will lose all your gold, exp, and the game freezes and you have to reset. The first time I played it as a kid, I opted to join him to see what would happen and was very surprised. And fucking infuriated.

I've played it some more, best advice I would say. To anyone that plays it. Make a detailed map, as you go. I will definitely be doing that! Lol. I don't have any artistic skill. but I will try nonetheless.

Imo, it's the worst and most frustrating of the series. It's easy to get lost, the game is grindtastic in the worst sense, and your three party members are terribly balanced. I got through it but won't ever play it again.
