Agree with David and Gillian. Also Don Johnson and David Caruso.
I don't know what happened to Kim Basinger after LA Confidential.

William Petersen - His performances in To Live and Die in L.A., Manhunter, and even Young Guns II, really impressed me. He had an incredible screen presence that convinced me he would be one of the great ones. Sadly, I was wrong. He seemed (and seems) more interested in the stage than the screen. Plus, that CSI thing was kinda big...

I don't know what happened to Kim Basinger after LA Confidential. She was a middle aged woman in Hollywood, that's what happened.

James Marsters was amazing on Buffy, but for some reason that never lead anywhere.
Matthew Lillard deserved more than to get typecast as goofballs and Shaggy, going by his dramatic performance in SLC Punk.
Jeanette Goldstein. I bet most people don't know that Vasquez from Aliens, John's stepmom from T2, and the Irish woman from Titanic are the same person.

I second this! He did a great job in "The Terminator" and in the few other movies that he appeared in like "The Rock". But I don't like him as a negative character. He becomes a too obvious villain. I prefer him as a hero. His looks and attitude make him appear a bit "untrustworthy". You are never sure if he really is a good guy or if he will turn on you. That's what made his casting as Kyle Reese perfect.

Roy Scheider - he might have had a great career if he hadn't refused "The Deer Hunter", a decision he later regretted.

I was thinking the other day, what took Dwayne Johnson so long? He's always been poised to be the next Schwarzenegger, but I feel like it took 10 years longer than it should have. Was it that he was picking terrible projects, or the public wasn't ready accept a new Arnold yet? Seems like anything he touches these days becomes a hit. I think the public wasn't ready for a former WWE star to be taken seriously as a movie star. Dwayne Johnson still picks terrible projects but I don't think he is getting many offers to be in good movies.
I like him btw and will watch anything he is in.

I don't know what happened to Kim Basinger after LA Confidential. She was a middle aged woman in Hollywood, that's what happened. So are a lot of actresses that still get good work. Basinger just isn't that good of an actress and she has always been bad at picking projects.

Roy Scheider - he might have had a great career if he hadn't refused "The Deer Hunter", a decision he later regretted. I honestly don't think that would have made much of a difference. In fact, William Friedkin said he regrets casting Scheider as the lead in Sorcerer because he doesn't think he has movie star quality.

I don't know what happened to Kim Basinger after LA Confidential. Well Linda Hamilton may have ha a good career if she didn't have severe emotional issues. Same with Rene Russo.

In fact, William Friedkin said he regrets casting Scheider as the lead in Sorcerer because he doesn't think he has movie star quality. Of course Scheider would never have been a mega movie star who headlines movies and commands $30 mill per film. It is his lack of movie star quality which I find appealing. Makes him more relatable. I think he could have had (and deserved) a better career, even playing supporting characters, instead of starring in cheap B-grade movies like he did.

I don't know what happened to Kim Basinger after LA Confidential. He has a great career as a living sunglasses model. He stands in the Ray-Ban showcase, putting on and taking off sunglasses every few minutes.
