Can anyone here remember the very first time they saw this:-
Can you remember how you felt seeing this?
Watching again now, do you think the DT lived up to this?
For me, this was probably the highlight of what they've produced to date (maybe alongside episode 3 of The Mandalorian) - this teaser trailer.
I guess there was a predecent set with the first Phantom Menace teaser. Also absolutely incredible to watch at the time.

I can remember fans talking about Luke's lines ("The Force is strong in my family. My father has it, I have it, my sister has it, you have that power, too") in the trailer. Those who weren't well versed on the movies insisted it was just reused lines from Episode 6, but I kept correcting them saying that the lines were different - essentially, 'Go back and rewatch the scene for it is different'. Then Mark Hamill revealed at Celebration that he did in fact re-record the lines from 6 for the trailer, so the echo was the original lines for Luke, and the main audio was Jake. Hamill also said he kept messing up the lines: www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2015/04/mark-hamill-talks-j-j-abrams-the-new-voice-over-he-recorded-for-the-teaser-trailer-and-more.htmlIronic how they let Luke talk in the trailer, but didn't let him have even one line in 7. No, the DT didn't live up to anything. Terrible.

Never had an issue with it and, in fact, would love to see the more extremist aspects and characters (Phasma, Pryde) fleshed out in books, comics, and cartoons. My problem with the depiction of the First Order in VII revolved around their seemingly inexplicable access to resources and tech, which has been addressed and answered by what we learned in IX, so I’ve no remaining issues.

I remember being disappointed and wary that they were seemingly bringing back the Empire, as it appeared to make the OT pointless.
If only I'd known they'd being back Palpy' as well...

How was that explained in TROS? (haven't seen) Palpatine says he’s responsible for all of it. And if we can accept that he can amass a GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC in total secrecy over ~10 years during which the Jedi Order and the Republic itself still at least nominally existed, I see nothing implausible about him stealthily working on both the First and Final Order fleets (etc) over a much larger span of time in which he was literally the supreme autocratic ruler of the known galaxy.
