I've got to admit, with how powerful he has been in Hollywood for decades, I thought his former hangers-on might have tried to weasel him out of the case. Good to see justice has been done.

Eighteen months in a minimum security prison with tennis courts should teach him a lesson!

Trump just may pardon him -- but only if he promises to restore American movies that will win the Oscar.

Guilty on two counts: sexual assault and rape.
Not guilty on two counts, both the most serious charge of predatory sexual assault.
Still, he should be put away for a while unless the Sexual Assaulter In Chief pardons him.

He was able to do it openly and no one in the biz did anything to stop him. The fact that they turned on him after Clinton lost suggests retribution for that more than any kind of moral awakening. It also shows that the movie business needs a widening of content providers because Weinstein was once praised by Roger Ebert as the last old-style movie mogul who took the time to watch the movies at festivals under consideration for distribution. If there were lots of media owners, they could not pull antics like this so easily. Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino were blacklisted for displeasing Weinstein and Peter Jackson verified it. I notice Jackson is no longer in any big studio employment after he revealed that information.

Insult Trump all you want, but if Hillary had won in 2016, Harvey Weinstein would still be in position to be the monster he was before 2016. I'm not saying Trump had anything to do with Weinstein's fall from grace, but if Hillary was in charge, all of this would have been swept under the same table it had been swept under for decades.

Hillary DID win in 2016 by almost 3 million but the Republican candidate took office anyway, the second this has happened for a Republican in the 21st century. Then you admit ( "I'm not saying Trump had anything to do with Weinstein's fall from grace") that the rest of you comment is not based in any Reality.

I'm not really sure what you're saying in that last sentence, it really didn't make any sense. Anyways, can you honestly say that if Hillary was President, Harvey Weinstein would be headed to prison right now?

Going to have to hold you to what you originally wrote, that the president doesn't have anything to do with Weinstein's fall. In fact, considering the Republican's president's culture of corruption, emboldening people to publicly attack minorities, verbally and physically, and excusing his own administration and election team from their crimes (and a lot more), I would have thought that corrupt people in Hollywood would also be emboldened under a Republican presidency. My last word. Very O.T.

Still didn't answer my question about Hillary, but whatever. The foaming at the mouth political rants offering little truth and wild exaggerations from posters (who are otherwise valued members) is one of the reasons people run the opposite direction away from this board. If we wanted to read venomous diatribe like that, we'd be on the political board. I didn't start the thread, nor was the first person to bring politics into the discussion.

I remember the UK film mags would suck up like crazy to Harvey, spinning the reports of him being a prick with the catch-all terms "Just Harvey being Harvey" (gotta keep on his good side in order to get that exclusive photo shoot.) Seeing clips of the awards shows, everyone really was desperate to hang on the coattails of "The Punisher"

Perhaps he'll learn about unwanted sex from his colleagues at Rikers.
