Cynthia RhodesAlways had a thing for her, specially the role opposite Tom Selleck, in the sci-fi/action thriller Runaway (1984), where she is so damn cute, that even Selleck just cannot keep his hands and fingers away of always trying to rubbing his co-workers perky little nose, several times throughout the film. Hmmm.......always loved her too, but don't think I've seen her in Runaway (1984).......yet, that is !! (Add that one to the list !!) Before (FINALLY!) learning her name, it never failed that I'd always find myself thinking, "Who is THAT ??", any time I'd happen to see her in movies like Flashdance (1983), Staying Alive (1983), and, of course, the unforgettable Dirty Dancing (1987)....... To anyone interested, here's a brief radio interview of hers that was done back in 1987, which was not only the height of her acting career.........but a film career that was (outside of an appearance in Richard Marx's "Don't Mean Nothin' " music video that year, and one more film role in 1991's Curse of The Crystal Eye) inexplicably, already over..... www.criticsatlarge.ca/2018/06/podcast-interview-with-cynthia-rhodes.htmlSAVE FERRIS

I remember from earlier this summer, that she starred opposite John Travolta in Staying Alive, but had no idea she did several other big budget musical films during the 80s, but then again, it seems she was not just a dancer, but also a singer aswell, but I do not think I have ever seen Flashdance, Xanadu or Dirty Dancing before. However, I thought she fitted well in within the action/adventure genre with Runaway. Anyway, thanks for the information about Rhodes, I might have to check out the interview with her later on, as it sound like she had a short but interesting career during the 80s.

Brandon MaggartEven though I have mostly seen him in rather small parts, in films like Dressed to Kill (1980) and a few other 80s titles, still, for me, Brandon Maggart will forever be associated with the cult-film Christmas Evil (1980) aka You Better Watch Out, where he portrays the sympathetic loner, Harry Standling, whom due to a traumatic childhood memory, ends up becoming obsessed with everything involved around Christmas, so much, that he end up spying on neighborhood children, to make sure who have been nice and who has been naughty, and where he tries his best to reach out towards his adult co-workers (of course, Harry works at a huge toy factory) but there is not much of a merry attitude going on there. Yet Harry never gives up, even though his somewhat "different" views of life, is looked down on by most, he takes it onto himself, to save Christmas and while doing a lot questionable things, his friendly smile and eyes, is not that of a cold and creepy "typical slasher" Santa, you end up running away from, but instead one you end up cheering for. And when he finally transform into jolly old Santa, he sure deliver one hell of a performance.
