Loved his performance in Dark Angel (2000-02) along with Jessica Alba. And where his role of the wheelchair bound Logan surely stood out, among all these super-creatures and colorful characters, as one of those who would not let you down, and to always count on, backing you when you were in trouble. Sadly, there never were made a season 3, but still, I enjoyed re-watching the series last fall. Never quite got into his role in the more famous and long running NCIS, but I try to pick up a few episodes, every now and then, as it is always sent on tv, late at night. Just not sure how many seasons they actually made out of this obviously very popular spin-off (I guess) of C.S.I. back in the day.

Sam Elliott has to be brought up, and not quite sure if someone else have done so earlier, but always been a fan, and never let me down, no matter the "quality" of the films he appeared in. The man has always had that classy and charming appearance of someone, that even if they were a complete and total stranger, he would still have time for a cold beer, and a good chat.

NCIS is currently doing its 18 season, Michael Weatherly left at the end of season 13.

Pretty much the entire main or leading cast of the great classic british feel-good tv show, The Darling Buds of May (1991-93). Loved it as a kid, and much more when re-watching it as an adult on DVD.

Well, my bad then, but I never watched JAG, or much of these american crime shows, but somehow I ended up thinking they might be related somehow. 18 season huh? Damn, well no chance in hell I would waste time on that many seasons, I mean it is kind of fun and charming but not that fun.

Dennis Franz is someone I kind of early got to knew, as the grumpy, angry, sleazy minor part, often in Brian De Palma's films, or as the short tempered and shouting comical sidekick in a few action films (probably most know is Die Hard 2, which he is great in), but I did not get into NYPD Blue, until it was almost finished, and when I did, around 2001-02, I got completely hooked, and love his portrayal of Lt. Andy Sipowicz, and that he was offered more of a humane and emotional role to play from, but of course, when I finally saw a few of the much earlier seasons, it was quite a difference. Still, one of my favorite character actors of the 80s and early 90s, and who held his own, when teaming up with Dustin Hoffman, in American Buffalo (1996). Mike Starr is another classic grumpy, angry and kind of "scary" or menacing looking fella, but once he puts on that big smile, you sense that this guy might be more a gentle giant, than a villain. He would often be used in gangster and crime films, to solid effect, but where I thought he delivered one of my favorite performances, in the more lighth hearted comical ones, such as Dumb and Dumber (1994) or as the bit naive yet likeable heavy Harold, in the underrated Robert De Niro and Bill Murray crime-comedy, Mad Dog and Glory (1993). It is a far shot off the more "straight forward" comedy, and more off-beat I guess, and one which surely is of those hidden 90s gems, that I believe gets better, through each visit. Anyway, Mike stands his ground along with David Caruso, against De Niro and Murray, and I love some of the random lines Starr puts out, and they always crack me up, that or the hilarious fighting scene, with Caruso, where they try to beat each other to death, but without taking out the entire apartment to De Niro's character.
