Feud is over and I loved every frame of it. Lange slayed as Crawford, however, she was unbelievably unforgettable back in 1982 playing a different classic film star, Frances Farmer in Frances. She would have won the Oscar too, if it hadn't been for that meddling Meryl Streep, dagummit!

Even though Joan Crawford seems to have been a rather self obsessed individual, Lange's performance did make me pity her.

Personally, I prefer her as Crawford, just for the way that she totally transformed herself to play Crawford. It's hard to believe that that's the same actress from Frances, Tootsie, Sweet Dreams, Blue Sky, etc. I felt that she played Crawford with just the right amount of eccentricity. She made Crawford come off as a rather creepy woman.

Her rendition of Crawford was nothing short of spectacular. She gave a very nuanced performance, and also displayed Crawford's underlying vulnerability and insecurity. She was amazing as Farmer, but I like her a whole lot more doing Crawford. Not so easy, and if not done well, could come off being campy and over-blown (think Dunaway).
