The Astros still have a great team even after losing Cole, but their mettle will be tested by constant media attention, merciless fans all year long, finger-pointing, etc. It's going to be a tough road to hoe for them. If they manage to win the division, Dusty Baker deserves a medal.
I'd love to see the Angels finally make a playoff run with Trout, and adding Rendon is a huge piece, but I still think they're a piece or two short. The A's always manage to be better than everyone expects so let's go with them.
I'm not even sure I can name 5 guys on the Rangers. They still have Elvis Andrus?
The Mariners have zero chance, just like last year.

Iβll take the Astros, they are clearly the most talented team in the division IMO - their lineup of hitters is probably the best in MLB.

The Angels will have to win games like 8-7, 12-11, because their rotation isnβt exactly Pedro and Clemens. I had to google the Rangers roster, no chance. Aβs? Sure why not for another first round exit.

Will it pay off for the Marinersβ shortstop?www.spokesman.com/stories/2020/feb/25/jp-crawford-spent-his-offseason-putting-on-muscle-/

Astros have the better team on paper but the distractions will be an albatross. Athletics have a good team and two huge pitching prospects, Jesus Luzardo and AJ Puk (Puk, not Fuk). Angels can only win so many 11-10 games. Texas overachieved last year.
Who voted for Seattle? Fess up...
1. Oakland 2. Houston 3. LA 4. Texas 5. Seattle

"With the first pick in the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft, the Seattle Mariners select..." They'll lose at least 103

Yeah, it's really rough. Some nice young pieces in the minors but most of them are at least a year away. I have them getting 70 wins for their ceiling. That would be a "successful" campaign.

Sorry, not seeing it. 1b, 2b, CF, Rf, C and the rotation are gaping holes. Only player on the roster that's worth a dam is Kyle Seager.
I'm seeing Seattle, Kansas City and San Fran as the dregs of MLB in 2020. Boy, the 2014 World Series seem like a billion years ago.

Rangers and Mariners donβt have nearly enough to compete.
I think the Aβs have a better chance at winning the division than the Angels because their pitching is better, I just donβt trust the Angels really, behind Trout and Rendon they donβt have much IMO. The Astros have a loaded lineup - Altuve, Bregman, Correa, Alvarez, Gurriel, Springer, Brantley thatβs a boatload of good hitters, they have the best offense in MLB IMO, it will just be a matter of how much the outside distractions affect them.
I think the AL West will go like this
Astros Aβs Angels Rangers Mariners

Astros will suffer for a few months as the world shakes their collective finger at them, but they are still real good, and by August will have control of the division.
The A's are good, definitely in competition for a possible division title but at least also a Wild Card.
Angels have very questionable pitching, but will be a fun team to watch.
Rangers and Mariners probably will struggle through the year.

Yeah the Mariners suck horribly. They will arguably be the worst team in MLB, nutsberry has to be trolling by picking the Mariners to win the division.
