I don't mind it. This is Daniel Craig's last film as Bond. I hope he goes out on a bang.

I have to say that most Daniel Craig's Bond films disposable action fodder that don't require being that long.

A two hour and forty minute 007 movie? Why?

Too long perhaps. Spectre barely had enough story to fill in a 2.5hr runtime. They get leaden and dreary. Need to be nippy and zippy. Although I liked Spectre and found that it recaptured some Bond classicism, I felt that Skyfall was way too long, almost as if the filmmakers were being paid by the film's running length and thus kept adding contrivances and meaningless plot points to keep the movie going.

Have not seen Skyfall in its entirety so can't really comment here and I only saw Spectre at the behest of friends. 007's post Timothy Dalton have not really rocked my boat and I do not find Daniel Craig all that appealing to watch. I have probably found Craig the least appealing of all the Bonds, but I feel that he is a little better in Spectre, incorporating slightly more humor, humanity, and drollness into his otherwise glum 007 persona. I saw Spectre twice in the theater and deemed it "good" the second time—one of the better Bond movies, actually. It is impressive visually, especially in terms of lighting, the Día de los Muertos opening sequence is classic, and the overall romanticism is reminiscent of Dalton's first Bond outing, The Living Daylights (John Glen, 1987). Plus, the return of Blofeld as the main villain offers a nice, ironic touch for those familiar with the franchise's history. Conversely, I found Skyfall bloated, overly concerned with action, and mediocre at best. Aside from Adele's opening credits song and director Sam Mendes' establishing shots of that Scottish estate late in the film, I did not feel that the movie had much going for it, despite its popularity with the public.

Too long perhaps. Spectre barely had enough story to fill in a 2.5hr runtime. They get leaden and dreary. Need to be nippy and zippy. Agreed. Giving an action film, any action film, a Gone With The Wind running time is ridiculous. No nearly-three-hour film is going to be able to keep up the pace for that amount of time. This thing is being treated like The Passion of the Craig, when it's just another actor moving on from the 007 role; I don't care how popular he may have been or how much new life he may have breathed into the franchise, his final appearance in the role doesn't warrant some epic-length movie.

Never got how people could critique a runtime before seeing the movie.
