Let's not forget Ollie's first directorial effort, a low budget Canadian-produced horror movie called Seizure. For that very strange film, I rate it a C+.

I was going to say that Wall Street it's an A to me, and of course agree with you about Platoon. JFK it´s a great movie IMO, specially the acting is really good. Have you seen Talk Radio? It's a hidden gem. Haven´t seen it yet. I´ll check it. Thanks for the recommendation!

I think Platoon was his best film. It's also the greatest Vietnam War movie ever made IMO. Didn't care for JFK though. Found it overlong, convoluted and frankly quite dull. JFK is anything but dull imo. It is one of the most intriguing movies ever made. There isn't even one scene that isn't interesting. How do you feel about Zodiac? Zodiac is still on my Watchlist. I haven't seen it yet, but am looking forward to it. I'm guessing it resembles The Silence of the Lambs somewhat.

It isn't all that similar to The Silence of the Lambs imo.

When it comes to JFK, I went into the movie expecting something completely different. Thought it would actually feature President Kennedy during his tenure.

When it comes to JFK, I went into the movie expecting something completely different. Thought it would actually feature President Kennedy during his tenure. What I mean by that is that it is a very long movie, full of information on top of information about the case and is full of recognizable actors in small parts that are relaying information to other characters. It has a couple of scenes that are as bone chilling as anything you will ever see in a movie. Many people seem to consider Zodiac a masterpiece, but there are also some people who find the movie to be tedious.

Most people on here consider it a masterpiece, but there are also some people who find the movie to be tedious. Sounds interesting. Again, this is largely due to the fact that I'm interested in the subject-matter. As regards those bone-chilling scenes, that doesn't surprise me. Se7en features one or two sequences that I found more haunting than most horror films. I'll check it out in the coming weeks/months and post my feelings upon completion.

There is even a scene where the characters go to the cinema to see Dirty Harry because it is inspired by the Zodiac case and the character of Dirty Harry is actually based on the main detective in Zodiac. I thought that was an interesting touch.

Scarface is Oliver Stoner's masterpiece! JFK was pretty good(but most likely bullshit) too he should do another movie on 9/11 conspiracy theories. Born On The 4th of July will truly make you hate the republican party. A must see for alt righters. You have to take the "facts" in his movies with a grain of salt. I think the most problematic thing about the movie is its title, it shouldn't be called JFK, it should be called Garrison. Whenever defending this movie I always tell detractors to keep in mind this is a biopic of Jim Garrison and is about a real investigation. Garrison was wrong on most everything, and he lost his case against Clay Shaw, but it was still a fascinating case and Garrison was a fascinating thinker. Inevitably there will be a movie centered around Alex Jones's court case with the Sandy Hook families and his downfall as an internet celebrity. Hopefully they don't title the movie SANDY HOOK.

The title isn't the problem. People not checking to see what the movie is about beforehand is the problem. The movie is about the investigation of the assassination of JFK, so the title isn't misleading after you know what it is about. It is the perfect title imo, but I get your complaint.
