I buy all my digital movies from Amazon but it's getting hard to overlook this shit. Leon is 110 minutes long. Amazon cut a minute out. Obviously the one controversial minute in the film. I mean, what the fuck? Who censors art in 2020 like it just doesn't matter? Now, they censored Pretty Baby, too. But Pretty Baby is some extreme fucking shit. You could make a fucking argument there. But Leon? No.

Especially when Leon kills the cops.

Yep, and it's strange that I don't hear more people complaining about it.

Obviously the one controversial minute in the film. What minute? When Matilda dresses up as Marilyn Monroe and sings HAPPY BIRTHDAY? When they're at a restaurant and Matilda sits close to Léon? None of them seem like something that would've gotten censored in the early 90s, let alone today.

I buy all my digital movies there is your problem , you only have license and do not own So much this. The argument against streaming grows stronger by the day. I'm not a big Michael Jackson fan, and I believe his victims, but I want the choice to watch Stark Raving Dad, dammit! (And thankfully I do, since I still have the DVD of season three)

It was pulled by the producers just before the Disney purchase

I only buy physical media so I don't usually encounter this issue. But I believe censorship is more of a problem now than it was in the 1970's to 1990's.

I was just pointing out that it is not very difficult to find the episode. You think it'll be on YouTube forever? Especially now that Disney has a stake in the matter? Unless my home burns down, I'll always have access. No one can take it away from me or alter it in any way. Simply an undeniable pro to collecting physical media.

It just takes one hypersensitive person to post something to social media and then they have a shit storm. I wouldn't be surprised if they have someone looking at their entire catalogue for problematic scenes.

They do it because some countries won't allow them to stream if the edits aren't made and I guess Amazon doesn't want to stream multiple versions.
