A no from me, and I liked all four of the previous entries. But without Craven, I don't think a movie would be as effective. And while Rodriguez is an intriguing choice, and a director whose library has quite a few films I really like, I'm not sure if he has the right touch for this franchise. Scream 4 was pleasantly surprising; better to leave the series on a high note than to go to the well once too many times and come up with something that diminishes everything else.
Robert Rodriguez did actually direct that scene from "STAB" that we saw in both "SCREAM 2" and "SCREAM 4".
I think he gets and understands what "SCREAM" is supposed to be.
Plus, weren't he and Wes Craven friends ?

wolf359Some of the stuff said in that was funny like that one part by Campbell (the part she called Lillard a d*** (jokingly) and laughed) and the other by Lillard when he said, 'I personally would not do it though *pause* unless they paid me *pause* and then you know what F it' lol p.s. that video date is Feb 17th 2020. so chances are that was recent.

I know he directed that segment, and he may well understand the franchise, but I still don't think he has the right touch for it, sorry. And as I said before, I do like him overall. As far as he and Wes being friends, I can't speak to that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Did you ever see his Movie "THE FACULTY" ?
That Movie (which I know is an Alien Invasion Movie and Not a Slasher Movie) is Another Reason (to me at least) why I think he would be a good choice to take over for Wes Craven.

Oh hell yeah, I own that one. Fun little movie, Rodriguez was really at his peak back in the 90s.
