1. TOS - I think the greatest SF series of them all
2. Animated series - surprisingly well done, despite the crude animation, still a distant 2nd to TOS
3. TNG - has some great episodes but for the most part I grow bored when I watch this
4. Enterprise - great idea for a series and a nice cast but all too often it fell short of its potential, the series finale is an insult

The Original Series - of course the top slot.
The Next Generation - a worthy successor.
Deep Space Nine - Probably the smartest Trek there is.
Voyager - honestly not that great, but better than Enterprise so it gets the nod.
I don't really go for The Animated Series, tried a couple of times but it was just too silly. And the others aren't Star Trek shows at all in my eyes.

I liked all of them, except Voyager. *hides behind Worf and Elnor* Animated one wasn't bad, from the two or three episodes of it I ever saw. But for me it would be...
Next Gen
Original Series
Picard/DS9 are tied
Enterprise
Discovery (to be fair, I have only seen part of S1)

The Original Series is my favorite, the only one I own on DVD, and my vote above. I didn't vote on any of the others, but I would rank them in descending order as follows: Deep Space 9 The Next Generation The Animated Series Enterprise I've only watched a handful of Voyager and Discovery episodes. I haven't seen the series finale of Picard yet. EDIT 1/20/2021: I asked for The Animated Series (TAS) for Xmas and got it. So far I've watched the first four episodes and it's better than I remembered. It really does play like a fourth season of The Original Series (TOS). And since I'm not as well versed in TAS as I am TOS, rewatching it will no doubt help me over on the IMDB v2.1 Movie Quotes board. |

When I first discovered Star Trek in re-runs as a teenager in the early 80s, I was hooked. Every day I would get home from school hoping that the day’s episode would be one that I hadn’t seen yet - but even if it was not a “new” one, I would still gladly watch it. Today however I find the original series simply unwatchable. It is just too dated.
My favourite is DS9, followed closely by TNG. I have good memories of Voyager - the first series I watched from beginning to end as it aired. Enterprise started poorly and was finally getting good when it was cancelled.
Discovery is crap so far, and is Star Trek only in name anyway. Picard was not too bad, but far from great either.
