Though it may not technically have been the very first 'mockumentary', This Is Spinal Tap (1984) not only legitimized the genre, it opened people's eyes to the vast amounts of entertainment "gold" there was to be mined from films just like it.......and though MANY have tried since, very few, if any, have reached the giddy heights this one did !!
