This kinda makes me wonder how much longer the GOP is gonna keep pandering to evangelicals as the population keeps getting less and less religious. Hell the last election was even kind of a predictor of things to come, the GOP could have nominated religious fundamentalists like Cruz or Carson, instead they go with a guy that I doubt could even cite a single quote from the Bible and cheats on his wife with porn stars. So much for being the party of "Christian values".

You may or may not be aware of it, but your thread to me is simply more evidence of what I've been saying for years. One world. One government. One religion. This is just another step in the process. And for you atheists who say that you'll never worship anything or anyone, we'll see. I think you will, because it will be the death of you if you don't.

I suppose the GOP will eventually have to pander less to them to make up for their shortage of secular voters. And when the evangelicals voice objection, the GOP will say, "So what are you going to do? Vote Democratic?"

They've managed to use that as a winning strategy for several decades (albeit without putting a dent in Roe vs Wade), but it's gonna get to the point where (at least younger conservatives) really just aren't gonna care. At that point are all the fundies just gonna leave and form their own independent party?

Hmm, let's see...if young Republicans who INSIST on a pro-choice platform come to outnumber the pro-life fundies, I guess the party will have to become pro-choice. I doubt fundies would make the effort to form a (powerless) third party. They'd just throw up their hands and say, "Well, the world is getting more Godless, just like we said it would!" They'd take some comfort in that.

Not just Christians, but most religions demand Freedom of religion, but seldom practice it. JWs have nothing but contempt for Worldly folks. They demand freedom of religion for anyone converting TO JW. Then they shun any JW who wants to exercise freedom of religion and convert FROM JW to another religion (despite the writings of Awake, July, 2009). Some Muslims demand the death penalty for any Muslim who wants to leave Muslimhood. Don't forget the Inquisition, David Koresh, Jim Jones, Charles Manson (who called himself Jesus), and others.
Show me a milkman in high heels and I'll show you a dairy queen. - Proverbs 43:33

As AOC herself has pointed out, conservatives rate people’s intelligence, indeed their very worth as human beings, based on the lowest salary they have ever made. Wingers like to point out that she once worked as a waitress and bartender as evidence of her low worth. I wonder why wait staff would ever want to vote Republican when right-wing politicians dismiss them as no one important. And, oh, you do know, don’t you, that at age 17 she won second place at a prestigious science fair for a project in microbiology on Caenorhabditis elegan (C. elegan) lifespan extension, with her findings indicating that “antioxidants could potentially help prevent degenerative illnesses induced by oxidative stress.” Also, she has a cum laude degree from Boston University in economics and foreign relations. Like this meme, the Right continues to show not only how petty (and lying) they can be, but that that’s all they have. Last thing, as conservatives feel about working people, I feel about former reality show hosts.

I’m not worried about dying and maybe there are people on this planet with more guts than you. One Religionists for 2000 years have tried to convert those stiff-necked Jews to point murdering them by the millions and they didn’t convert. Why do you think atheists are any less willed? Depends on the atheist, I guess.

Is this really about discrimination against gays and lesbians? I really don't think so. I found this quote to be rather demonstrative of the real issue: If medical care means a sex change and genital mutilation, they have every right to refuse to support it on ethical grounds. Sorry, many of us in the queer community as well do not see castration as a form of health care. I think that you have missed the mark in this post and attributing the main concern to be about genital mutilation of transgender people. You have trivialised it, in fact by this response. The very fact of a 'Freedom of Religion Bill' is the basis that people with a 'religion' demand to be able to have the right to discriminate against 'others' be this people of other religions, atheists, gays or 'others' that in their bigoted religions, of whom they disapprove. It means that they wasn't a free pass because of their kooky or otherwise religion to circumvent secular law. Full stop...end of story.

This is clearly about sex change surgery. I myself would ban it as medical malpractice. Thankfully, ignorant fuckwits like you aren't in charge of such things.

i hit up thumbelina
asking questions is the better part of being an attentive listener.
always questioning this or that positioner on what or why the hell that came out of their pie hole.
so i hit up thembelina as to what she thought was going on with our current administration here in the land of the tweaked and the home of the rave.
and as she glared at me with the eyes of a long emancipated slave answering me as if i had been lounging in a cave.
even the smallest of ripples can rise to be the mightiest of waves.

I know of no medical problem which is peculiar to gays and lesbians where treatment is being denied by doctors on the basis of faith. This is clearly about sex change surgery. I myself would ban it as medical malpractice. It is NOT all about homosexuals. It is about discrimination and bigotry towards people or issues of whom the Conservatives disapprove according to their religious biases. Whist there are many transsexuals having surgery which YOU may disapprove of, there are also many who have been born with indeterminate and inconclusive genitalia, require surgery reassignment for the best quality of life.

Intersexed is a real physical condition which may require surgery. But most transgender folks are NOT intersexed. Most have normal genitals like others of their birth sex. I have a real problem with the government and the medical establishment sanctioning castration and genital mutilation. It's like we've returned to the middle ages. What about personal choice?

yougotastewgoinbabyI would rather be "retarded" but try to live around God's moral standards the best we can than be "smart" and proud and rebel against God like the left often does were they are their own god's. so us conservatives just prefer to stick to the truth of Jesus Christ unlike the godless left who makes up their own "morality" as they go along and is getting more hostile towards Christianity as time passes as they go further left towards insanity. because in general... Christian conservatives generally know morality is formed around Jesus Christ (i.e. objective morality) where as the godless left sees morality as subjective based on their own feelings about right/wrong and that's going to get them in trouble since one can't use ones feelings to accurately judge what's right/wrong because of our fallen nature some stuff that appears good to us is actually bad but they don't acknowledge this truth. plus, like I always mention you can see a general pattern... Christians who take it a bit more seriously tend to be conservative and the atheist types tend to be liberal. that says a lot and not only that it's the left who frown on Christianity (they support immoral things under the guise of "progress") and anyone who opposes that is a red flag in my book since that's the core of what life is about whether someone believes it or not as our choices/actions here on earth ultimately determine whether we end up in Heaven or hell after death here on earth.
