Not entirely.
Many elderly are alone and have to fend for themselves.
It's kind of sad when I go to the supermarket and I see a 90 year old with a cane hunched over half blind fumbling around for a can of corn moving at a turtles pace.
Take all of the essential workers out there who may have a weak immune system who are working to support their families - healthcare workers, the police, Fedex/UPS drivers, the guy/girl working in the pizza shop/fast food restaurant, the supermarket workers - they're all at risk too.
Then put one of these jackasses I'm talking about who are jogging in packs of 15 (it's jaw dropping) for miles sweating and breathing in each others breath stream right next to each other, not social distancing or wearing masks - walking into a store and they're ignorantly standing next to this 90 year old fumbling for corn or an essential worker stocking shelves - these people didn't ask for this ignorant clown to put them at risk all because he/she is too selfish to put a goddamn mask on - they're just trying to survive.
That son of a bitch with his can of corn should be grateful that he's made it to 90. And once he's at that age, he shouldn't have his craggly ass in a public place after 1PM anyways. Before 1 is grandpa's time, after that it's normal adults time. Grandpa Joe should be home with his pudding by then, and not be selfishly causing regular folks like me and you to have to change our lives. Really, let that be the "New Normal". Before 1PM, the world is open to the old, the weak, and the scared. Then they should be herded home, and the remainder of the day belongs to us with strong minds, bodies, and spirits. Shit, I may be on to something..... I just want you to be aware of how fascist this sounds. Mister "Content warnings ahead of movies is censorship, and shouldn't be allowed" is now advocating the roundup of a segment of the population that he finds obstructive to his way of life. I hope my sarcasm detector is just broken, and you're kidding around.

The part about expecting people to change their lives is actually an interesting one.
Because you can look at both sides of the coin on that matter.
Take myself for instance. I've questioned while jogging why these people don't wear masks. Is if fare for me to expect them to change their lives? In my opinion yes - as we're going through a global health crisis.
I've been thinking of going to another trail much earlier - but then question - why should I have to change my life just because they're not following the Governor's orders?
I think I'm just going to have to change mine - start going at like 4:30am again when it's desolate.

Word came a couple of hours ago that the US Government has agreed to pay Pharma giant Pfizer $1.95 Billion for 100 million doses of a Covid vaccine that will be given to the public for free.
Of course this all dependent on the potential drug passing a Clinical Trail - i.e. proving it's
1. Safe to take 2. Actually does what it's intended to do.
Numerous Clinical Trials going on right now by many major pharma companies - curious as to why a deal with Pfizer was struck - unless they seem to be in the lead as to what Phase their trial is in.
Once the news is announced that we do have a vaccine (whenver that may be - hoping Spring 2021 at the latest) - I can't remember a bigger story that may have dropped since maybe Hussein or bin Laden being exterminated. Would be huge globally - all the lives being saved.

I was cycling this morning and saw this dude jogging in a Nick Foles tank top. Well, I say jogging; he was standing with his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath. Anyway this dork saw me and instantly scrambled to put on his mask. I yelled “BIG BABY” at him - gave him a scare. He tried to mumble something in retort as I peddled away but I didn’t hear him.

You would definitely fit in the category of "Early Wave" society that should probably have their shit together by early afternoon, so then the rest of us can take care of our business the rest of the day without the "worried" bringing down the day.

If you think I'm worried about getting Covid-19, look at the first few pages of this thread. I used to be like you, only thinking about myself. "It can't hurt me, therefore I don't see what the big deal is." As soon as you figure out the world doesn't revolve around you, you'll have a better understanding of why it's important to stop the spread of the disease. You always tell me I always have to be right. Well, I was wrong about this.

I gotta tell ya, I always figured it did, thank God you're here to straighten me out. You think I'm unaware of how dangerous it is out in the real world? Not fully aware of your personal situation, but I've been working 40 hours a week with the public since late March, bozo. I'm FULLY aware of what's going on out there, I'm not sitting home a lot watching Netflix. I haven't seen many people coughing and sneezing, but I have seen many healthy looking folks nasty towards each other as some buy into the bullshit while others don't. It's high times for those in power that believe in the "divide and conquer" way of ruling.

You must be unaware of the dangers to others, because you think the solution is people need to toughen up.
No argument here.

I'm unaware of the dangers to others? Gee, Ray, why don't you inform me of the dangers that are out there. Should I be washing my hands? Should I stop sneezing on people? Cuz at the store I work at, we sneeze on anyone that buys any Jamieson or Smirnoff, it's just store policy. Do you think we should stop that?

Still, whenever I watch these tributes to those lost to the Coronavirus, almost all of them seem old, or fat and out of shape.
Lots of people never exercise. And don't seem to realize it's an obligation --- if you have a body.

Got the results for my 4th test and I'm still negative, sign that my precautions are paying dividend.
Otherwise it seems, at least from what I hear from friends and coworkers and see getting pushed on social medias, that there are more and more people questioning the usage of the mask and the whole situation.
Some people I know, either friends or coworkers, wanted my opinion on some videos they saw so I watched clips, interviews and even a guy promoting his documentary (and some bits of it) and it seems that the people questioning the whole thing fall in 3 different categories:
1. The nutjobs. For example, one interview started with a guy who asking the question "are even in the middle of a pandemic?", linking the word pandemic to the number of deaths (while pandemic, or epidemic, refers to the fact that a disease is spread across a community or a whole area, not the death toll) and then citing numbers that either can't be found or are simply lies.
2. The "misguided". One guy who made a documentary started explaining to his interviewer how the mainstream medias don't tell the truth (which is right if you take that statement without explaining what sensationalism is) but then claimed that the only other option was to look for sources that tell things as they are and that was "conspiracy" sources. I mean, the guy didn't even stop for one minute to search for government sources (CDC or health agencies) or medical sources (John Hopkins university, The Lancet or The New England Journal of Medicine for example). He went from mainstream straight to conspiracy stuff, which is the pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other without even stopping (or considering anything) in the middle.
3. Those who misunderstand. That may be the category in which most people fall in but for language reasons or others, some just misunderstand what is being said and asked of them.
Just to be clear, even as someone working in a long term care home, I can say that there are valid reasons for not wearing the mask but somehow it's rarely those reasons that are cited.
On another note, we have new personnel (all over the place, in different departments) at work but what amazes me is how many new employees have small shapes. I mean, unless you got a desk job, working in a long term care home ,whether it's on the units with the residents, or at the delivery reception or the maintenance or the kitchen is a physical job. How can the administration think that people who are 5'2" and barely weight 110lbs go trough their shift without nay issues is beyond me. I understand that at this point, they hire whoever applies (with small exceptions) but maybe they should at least find a way to get people who are able to do the job.

Per CNN - Google tells employees they won't be back in the office until June 2021 at the earliest.

It's 7 days until decision time in this household. We decided to stay isolated until the first Monday of August and that's only a week away now, man how time has flown! I've been keeping an eye on the statistics and the numbers look pretty good to me, especially in our county. So as long as they don't change in the next 7 days i will be out and about again for the first time since lock down began back in March.
I've bought some masks and hand sanitizer so i will be masking up for the first time which is going to seem weird. I'm surprised i've made it this long without needing to wear one.
