Dr Fauci on record saying that we should expect things to start getting back towards normal on November 4, depending on what happens on November 3.

What does this mean for our parades when the Phillies, Sixers, Flyers and Eagles win their perspective Championships ......
Imaginary... just like the 8 ball said so. Bryce Harper, still getting his 2017(?) ring fitted for him.

Ontario reported just over 100 new cases yesterday - MUCH better than the 400 or 500 per day when it first started.
Starting tomorrow, more businesses are being allowed to reopen. Likely mean I'll be a little more busier in my region at work. Again - wouldn't want it any other way.
Super happy for the local bowling alley as they have been shut down for the past 4 months. I have known the primary owner for nearly 35 years now.
Super happy that The Rec Room will be opening. I don't think I'll go this weekend as I'm sure a LOT of people will be there. They are allowing on 50 people in the facility at a time, too.

Mom is a gynecologist.....her assistant works for another doctor too and that other doctor has been found to be corona positive...today that assistant worked for 2 operations with mom and also day before yesterday for the doctor who was found positive today...Mom will get tested after 3 days. Nightmare. Hope she’ll be OK. I take it she was told to go home and isolate? Assitant's test result has come as positive but he says he is feeling perfectly normal and lacks any symptom. Mom's result is likely to come tomorrow. She is feeling normal as well.

this is pretty much how it started to spike again - everything reopening....
bowling alley for people who have been craving any entertainment for 4 months - sounds a recipe for Covid Soup to me.

Thanks. Newest stage of reopening started today. I'm still a little leery about everything reopening - for the same reason one mentioned. One sudden spike in the number of cases, and we could be doing this all over again.
As for reopening, yes - there will be limitations.
The Rec Room will only be allowing 50 patrons inside at a time. Can't remember if that means 50 total in both the bar/restaurant and the games area. Since I usually don't go to the bar, I can't
Bowling alley will limit groups to 10 per set of lanes, and participants must stay on their set of lanes. I've been there at the best of times. With kids running around....that's going to be tough to enforce.
We shall see. I'm not partaking in anything right now. Saves me money, anyway.

So we're not out of the woods yet. Pushers and junkies seem to have been let loose all over the neighborhood where I work. Actually, there is a 1 (or 2 at best) star hotel nearby where the sign always says no vacancy but you never see any tourist there, only junkies and often cops drop by and people are being arrested. So a guy got stabbed multiple times over a drug deal gone bad. Turns out he first got hit on the sidewalk, right next to the building then he moved towards the main entrance, where he fell on the porch, after being stabbed a few times again. I was inside, but near the windows at street level, so despite not seeing the first hit I heard the yell. My initial reaction was just to barely turn my head to take a quick look outside, to see if it was another homeless drunk fight or if it was another residents fight. Then I saw a resident (looking fine and standing up) outside with a nurse and she already had her cellphone to her ear, so I looked through another window and saw a guy on the ground holding his ribs while right leg was covered in blood. He managed to get up by himself but moved towards the building entrance. Now there was a commotion both outside from people passing by and inside by other witnesses. The security guy kept the doors locked because we saw the guy chasing the injured still going up and down the streets, moving after him. Now, we also got our commotion inside has two nurse/orderly/ward assistant were trying to get out, yelling they had to go now or else they would be late for their next shift at another center. They were insulting the security guy, who was calling the 911 (112 in Europe), and everybody else, yelling they needed to get out. I mean, a guy who is bleeding like crazy is laying on the porch while his aggressor is still nearby, a few meters from the entrance and those two employees thought the most urgent thing that should be handled was allowing them to go out... So,the aggressor left (he got caught later), the ambulance came and the police sealed the street for the rest of the day (it was around 15h20 when it happened but when I left at 20h00 the street was still sealed so I had to leave through the back alley). Anyway, next morning (talking about people who have to come in for the day shift starting between 6h30 and 7h30) the street had been re-opened but nobody already present, and I really mean nobody, thought it would be a good idea to post a sign or have someone outside tell everyone to use the back entrance. So we all had to walk in a pool (about 5' x 4') of semi-dried blood (too much to completely dry) to get to the door while a pile of bloody rags and compresses (that had been used on the spot to help the man while the ambulance was on the way) was still right next to the door. It's not that I never saw anything like that before but I thought that it lacked humanity to have left it all there, without cleaning anything over night. I mean, we're not savages or barbarians who simply walk in the blood of the people who had been slain for crying out loud. Well that was last week but junkies and drug dealers are still swarming the area so we have to be careful. A good thing is we don't have to worry much about our residents being outside for now because a new case has been confirmed over the weekend so all residents are locked on their units again. The person who tested positive was roaming freely the activity room so she had the luxury of talking and meeting other residents for a while... Turns out there have been new cases in other centers too. In other news, we have a supply chain issue for white bread in the Montréal Downtown. At least, that's what the delivery company, for one of the biggest producer in the area, told me when I called them because we had not received our order. Whole wheat bread and other types seem fine but the basic slice white bread is short... There have been new rules for the dispatch of PPE, especially medical gloves, but mostly for the L and XL sizes. I guess they'll have to hire more women... And our cardboard container, somehow ended up on its side. I mean, it's a big thing, like this: So right now, it's laying on the side, where the side door is. That means the homeless roaming the back alley got all the cardboard boxes they needed and they left the rest here and there. The store owners who share the back alley with my center will probably file a complaint again... That's the state of things right now, if I'm not talking about personnel shortage and other small issues. If I ever write a book on what it was like in 2020, simply making it through and working in long term care homes, I'll make sure to use this meme:

Jesus, what did you do? My lady is really making sure I don't engage with any of these nuts as I usually would. She's terrified someone's going to have a knife or gun or something and I have to hold back for stuff like that when she's around.

'WHAT DID YOU SAY - I DIDN'T HEAR YOU!'
The pussy just peddled off - it was early AM - around 6:30am or so - it was kind of dark - sun's coming up - but there's lots of trees.
If it was another jogger or walker - I doubt the guy would have had the balls to say anything - it was because he was on a bike.
I wear a mask for YOU - you and your loved ones - not knowing if I have it and not wanting to pass it off to somebody else.
It's very disheartening - I'd say I'm in the 10% who actually wear a mask.
It saddens me to an extent I live in a 'Me First' society - where we don't care about the health and well being of our neighbors and community.

What city do you live in again? Our area is overall pretty good with the masks and I have told a couple people in the store to pull up their mask. I complained to Home Depot manager the other day about teh security guard standing outside the exit with his mask pulled down under his chin and the manager acted like I was putting her out. It boggles the mind.

Our Governor put an order out a couple of weeks back to wear masks in public.
This is another reason why it's so disheartening to me. I wish there was a way to police this - i.e. ticket people.
Saddens me. You get stares, smirks, laughter - when I jog by with my bandana on - I just don't get it for the life of me. Especially when I see a pack of people exercising together not social distancing or wearing masks.
I hear you about the Home Depot situation - they're zoos here - there's just ignorance everywhere.

I was at another Home depot and a young girl at the self serve and a guy behind the painting both had their masks pulled down. they just think "I have a mask on, it's good enough" but no other employees say diddly. We live in a country of fucking idiots. It'd be a miracle if Europe ever let Americans in ever again, the people here are so fucknig stupid. I mean, there are still a good portion of idiots who still think Trump is a good person, I mean what does that tell you.
