So England is going in to lock down for a month on Thursday but it's not a total lock down. For unknown reasons Boris has decided to keep school and universities open which completely defeats the rule of no house holds can mix. People are still going to be in contact with each other by proxy through their kids. This is the most pathetic action of our government so far.
If you're going to lock down it should be total or not at all. We are going to go about our business as normal until someone tells us we can't. We take all the necessary precautions still anyway so i don't think this is going to affect us much.

It seems UK will be in trouble for quite a while. Sad. Meanwhile, Belgium is facing devastation. They are first the European country (except the very lowly populated San Marino) to reach 1000+ deaths per million and it is looking like a very grave situation. They are seeing 150 deaths a day on average. Just to put that figure in perspective. If Belgium had the same population as the US, they do be seeing 4286 deaths a day.

My home state in front of our 'Leader'
No social distancing - you may be able to count a handful of masks
I am saddened, disheartened, embarrassed and ashamed

US infection rate has picked up lately. So has Pennsylvania's. Pretty bad attitude to not wear mask.

Just found out that my cousin is in the hospital with Covid and a blood clot in his lungs. I love the guy, but he is a dumbass - he started feeling pain last Thursday, spent the whole weekend in severe pain, but refused to go to a hospital. Yesterday he finally relented and went, and was diagnosed. His wife doesn't have any symptoms, but is probably contaminated as well - in fact she may very well be the one who gave it to him, as she goes out much more than he does. He is the first one I know personally who contracted Covid-19. My cousin is out of the hospital, even though he still has a fever. He spent about ten days in the hospital, but he never had to go to the ICU. His wife tested negative, but now that he is back home she will have to be very careful (and lucky) not to get infected.

Restaurants opening again in Ontario hotspots, but no alcohol after 9pm + closings at 10pm is a good idea. The buzzed clientele ignoring protocols is what ppl were very wary about.
Toronto Star published a list this wkend of the biggest spreader events in Canada since day zero. Most of those were meat packing & manufacturing plants with close quarter workers, weddings with fucking moron COVIDIOTS, & long term care centres with seniors & staff - which is proving to be the real global catastrophe. Restaurants, bars, salons, haven't really seemed to been contact traced to big numbers. Gyms re-opening here also, but very strict numbers & protocols.
At least now this seems pretty doable through the winter. As for outdoor patios, now places are weighing between thousands of dollars of heating & safety measures and their potential revenues. An establishment with 4 outdoor tables might not pull the trigger for $4000 heating if they can't even see that money through next April.
As for Christmas, I'm actually already finished my shopping lols... not least of all aware of supply chain potential chaos in December, if you see what you want/need, get it now. Even a f'n vistaprint calendar I made for my work, I ordered now because that $9 thing won't be a shipping priority in a few weeks for routine eta.

This is stunning:- www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54807819Kids outdoor football shut down even although the chief scientific adviser is not aware of ANY transmissions between children undertaking outdoor activities! "When asked by chairman Greg Clark MP if he knew of any instance of coronavirus infection taking place between children playing grassroots football, Vallance said: "Not that I'm aware of. There may be evidence, but I haven't seen it." Unbelievable.

Meanwhile, +9,165 Covid deaths reported today which is the worst figure ever. Europe is totally in grips of Coronavirus although I have seen moronic Europeans moaning about USA's handling of the virus. Death per million rate of Italy and UK very likely to surpass US figures soon. Spain and Belgium already far ahead.

The US seems to be pulling away from India still and pretty quickly. Europes figures are indeed shocking. Here in the UK it's being reported that the partial local lock downs were working and the numbers are down in those areas and the now implemented national three quarter lock down should men we only see a short sharp spike of cases and deaths before they quickly decline before Christmas. I have little faith that will happen. It's the first day of the national lock down today and it looked to me there was the same amount of people out and about. I started a second job this week and there has been no mention of Covid let alone any lock down consideration. I'm amazed it's not even a topic of conversation.

This is exactly why a lot of Biden supporters voted by mail - so they wouldn't have to put up with this horsesh*t -

Nothing to be upset about - that's Reading, Pennsylvania. It's not your city therefore it can't represent your area in any way. No need to claim them as your own.

I started a second job this week and there has been no mention of Covid let alone any lock down consideration. I'm amazed it's not even a topic of conversation. Indeed it's scary. My question is how long would it continue to be so? Personally, I have already faced a loss because of Covid. I got promotion ( increase in designation) even while working from home but my company didn't increase my salary because of economic uncertainty. All that pushed my plan for future a bit behind. So, in similar way I can see millions facing problems because of the virus. May be many not just did not get salary hike but even lost their jobs. Some people dismiss the virus as something capable of only hurting old people or people with underlying conditions and argue for no lock-down. But I find that line of thinking childish. Potential death of millions of people would ultimately shake the foundations of modern humanity itself and hurt us for years. It will give us guilty feeling too if our disinterestedness leads to too many deaths . So of course governments should take action to slow down the spread of virus and citizens should co-operate. But are we really doing that? Of course the fault lies in each of us (government and citizens). Today again France posted +828 new deaths. France's population is less than 20% of US population. So if you compare countries on same scale, then Europe right now is facing way more crisis. It's a lot unjustified to make fun of US of not being able to handle and ignore some other countries. Also, France added further 60,000+ new cases which could lead to even more deaths after 10 days from now. India seems to be facing less wrath lately but virus has again been increasing faster in the national capital region in the last 10 days. So, it could be again in full force in India when Indian winter arrives in December. And here people are gain disregarding masks. It's just like lighting a match and hoping the fire doesn't spread.

Canada hopes to start rolling out our vaccines 1st quarter 2021. It'll be slow numbers at first because initial ramp up. The process overall will likely take some time also - the vaccine furthest along requires storage at -80 degrees Celsius, which for pharmacies & the like will require proper & efficient investments to make that feasible.

He has taken a turn for the much worse. He is back at the hospital now, in the ICU, on a respirator. It’s not looking good. He’s probably about 56-57 years old, not overweight and as far as I know in good health, so he isn’t in a very high-risk group. I am hoping this will work out in his favour.

Really sad that it has become more critical after initially showing signs of recovery.
