Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals are going to happen in October rather than April this year. That's IF there is an October....... (cue ominous music)......

No, the soldiers brought it back with them from Europe. alright so its still not clear. The doc I saw a while back said the first reported case was Kansas What was the origin of the Spanish flu? While it's unlikely that the “Spanish Flu” originated in Spain, scientists are still unsure of its source. France, China and Britain have all been suggested as the potential birthplace of the virus, as has the United States, where the first known case was reported at a military base in Kansas on March 11, 1918. Jan 12, 2016 Does it really matter? You just wanted an excuse to say, "Dirty Yanks" right?

Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals are going to happen in October rather than April this year. SXSW is not refunding ticketholders, which is some serious bullshit considering they no longer have their expenses in holding the festival, but they have everyone's money. Uhhhh, if people paid money for these events that get canceled because of fear, they better damn well get their money back. Are you kidding me?

Jan 12, 2016 As far as I know, it developed on the front somewhere in France. China had been speculated as a possible origin because they didn't seem to get hit as hard by it as it went around the world.

The thing is, how the hell did that virus get from France to Kansas without killing a load of people. Soldiers were dying on the ships when they were docking in Europe.

I'm guessing the insurance carriers are behind a lot of these cancellations. Fear is one thing, but if everyone starts getting sick, the insurance companies don't want to be stuck holding the bag for treatment of those covered. The easiest way to avoid that is to force people to not congregate en masse. Most commercial policies don't cover the spread of communicable diseases though, so festival organizers don't want to deal with possible negligence claims (even bogus ones are costly to do away with). Big shitshow.

However, if folks have already paid money for tickets, they should get their money back, yes?

It's the douchiest thing they can possibly do.

Here they have to refund your tickets.
