That's madness man π² I just watched the Eucharist celebrated at Mass in Clontarf on there. Aye. Handy for the disabled and older people who canβt get out and about. I just checked on Google though and it seems that watching online or TV masses does not count toward your obligation. Bit of a shame that.

Bit of a shame that. No, it won't count for attendance on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, but it is a way to 'do' a Mass on other days π Thank Christ our Parish isn't broadcast... Temptations of gynaecologists and all that π²

I saw someone wearing a virus mask for the first time today. But I read that the airborne respiratory droplets from other people's coughs and splutters can possibly molest your eyes and get in that way. There is no security I wore such a mask four weeks ago at work...for 2-3 minutes tops - it gets too hot. But I still have it.

I'm living my life no differently than any other day.
Wash your hands a lot, try to not get coughed or sneezed on by some dope who can't cover their mouth, and if by some chance I contact the disease, I'll try not to die.
Sounds pretty simple.

My wife is an ER nurse. She's already frazzled by it. Nothing up here but everyone who has a cough thinks they have "that damned koreavirus".

Urban tearaways will start employing the virus masks as a 'legitimate' incognito device during shoplifting forays, the rotters.

Hooray π I think we may need to make some changes at Church... No more communal Holy Water for crossing yourself when arriving and leaving (Holy Spirigel instead π)... and at the Sign of Peace, showing an open palm to people instead of shaking hands π€·ββοΈ) Good Friday is gonna be difficult... we all line up, bow in front of the Holy Cross, and take it in turns to kiss Jesus's feet.

Nope.
The hysteria has reached me though. Thanks for spreading it around.
Poor poor media-zombies. They don't even need to get the virus in order to suffer.

Just received the Bishops' coronavirus guidance... We are currently at stage 1... No shaking hands for the sign of peace if you have any symptoms at all. Receive your communion wafer on your hand, no tongue people. If it goes to Stage 2... No shaking of hands at the sign of peace at all. Holy Water stoups removed. No kissing Jesus's feet on Good Friday. If outbreak goes to Stage 3... All Mass and services will be cancelled for the duration. If stage 3 happens, templates have been drafted for Diocesan Bishops to enact laws excusing parishioners from compulsory attendance at Mass.

It's almost like there's a 24 hour media circus to fill. Anyway, I'm Millwall, the virus wouldn't fucking dare.

Just reached Ireland. The east side. I'm expecting the whole place to be infected by Monday and I dont even have one of those wee masks yet.

I'm not a newborn or 109 years old, so I'm not too worried about a flu strain.

I'm not a newborn or 109 years old, so I'm not too worried about a flu strain. I have hypertension and that apparently increases the death rate to about 6% if infected. That's for someone of average age, but I'm older than that. www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51674743
