The supply chain is not intact. It’s a falsehood. Goods from China and Southeast Asia have slowed to a trickle. Closed northern and southern borders have slowed or stopped the Canadian and Mexican imports. Domestic factories are shutting down or limited production. The factories that are running full tilt can’t get the product out the door fast enough because the trucking system is a bottleneck not designed or equipped to handle the sudden and urgent demand.

Food Lion stores here in NC are getting a third of their typical truck orders because of demand. If the manager orders 24 crates of milk, he is getting 8.

About fucking time too.

I wish. Vallance clearly wants them to close. I reckon Johnson is dragging his feet over fears of the cost of having to bail out the leisure industry and insurance companies.

Any ban looks like it'll apply only to pubs and clubs etc. in London (at least initially.)

We're dying here!

I think i can say we are seeing the affects where we are on the east coast of the UK now. My wife went shopping earlier (our regular weekly shop) and our small town Sainsbury's are now taking the temperature of everyone entering the shop and anyone with a raised temp turned away. She was limited to two of any item of what was left on the shelves which wasn't a lot.

There are plenty of smaller shops around us which aren't limiting what we can buy and they had plenty of stock so we have everything we need for the next week. We refuse to panic buy and leave others without so we hope this craziness calms down and we can shop like normal soon.

I've leaned on the side of caution for the past two weeks and we've been socially distancing ourselves. My wife thought i was just being paranoid at first and reluctantly agreed but as each day passes that reluctance is vanishing
