Nothing wrong with people reporting a large party at a neighbouring home, say. They’re endangering themselves and others not even in attendance. You’ve called out eejits like that yourself on here. There is a big difference between a gathering and people out legally self distancing in isolation. Do you realise... legally you are allowed out for reasonable reasons, which includes exercise... There is no legal limit to how many times a day. Once a day is advice, not law. The police have no power whatsoever to fine people for exercising in isolation however many times a day. The police are setting up roadblocks... There is no legal basis for this intrusion. A government minister even said drivers will not be pulled over. Police are fining people for buying what the police consider non-essential items... Again they have no legal basis to do so. It will all lead to civil unrest. So, to be clear, you do agree it would be reasonable, in fact advisable, for people to report a large social gathering at a neighbouring home to the police? The excercising thing is different of course. But don’t be going out ten times a day when you’d normally only be out once or twice just so you can cock a snook at the polis.

I'm not reporting anybody. I take my dogs out twice a day, three if I need the head space... I am legally allowed to do so... And in doing so, I never get within about 4 metres of anyone I pass for a split second, and touch no communal surfaces.

About to go on my daily jog (a little late) - hoping I don't run into a pack of ignorant runners on the trail not social distancing.
Yesterday I was jogging and could see a couple ahead of me.
Was getting closer and closer - I should have maybe yelled out 'jogger coming through' as I approached about 20 feet from them as they were split up - one to the right and the other to the left of the trail an I was thinking about just cutting through the middle of them.
The husband (I assume he was the husband) spit as I was about 10 feet away from them - decided to pass the wife on the right towards the brush/trees.
Just find it ignorant (although I should have sounded an alarm that I was coming) - if you feel the need to 'spit' look behind you to make sure the coast is clear (or please just swallow your flem which is probably the proper thing to do)

Ha, here's my two jogging stories from yesterday (funny having just read Ned / Carl's chat and screaming's account):-
1. My GPS cut out half way through my run meaning I had to stop and wait for the signal to return. So last night I'm sitting there uploading TWO activities and thinking - hang on a minute, is someone going to report me to the Gestapo here for doing two excercise activies! 😂
2. Also, similar story whilst actually on the same run - running down the outside of a pavement almost on to the road in order to avoid a pedestrian coming towards me on the inside. Then this jogging Mr & Mrs couple (clearly not regular runners) come bounding across the road - from the other side! - and cut in about two feet, at best, in front of me. All to avoid this car, which they didn't need to attempt rush across ahead of in the first place! Was very annoying. 9 miles avoiding parks, canals, trails, etc and you still can land up in trouble.

The arseholes that start vandalising and looting don't need any excuses. Hopefully these new national guidelines the police are cobbling together will ensure consistency and cut out the heavy handedness.

Hopefully these new national guidelines the police are cobbling together will ensure consistency and cut out the heavy handedness. They've got to stop doing what they are currently doing. They have no legal reason to put up road blocks and question drivers. They have no legal reason to ask somebody out observing social distancing what they are doing. Around here the compliance has been mostly good, well done Shire 👍 Let's keep it that way, not send the police here stopping and questioning people breaking no law.

I still would give them the time of day if the did stop me and ask a few questions. I wouldn't just clam up or be abusive.

Just when I thought India might be able to control this thing a new wave of infections has emerged. A large gathering of Muslim missionaries from all over the India a couple of weeks back has been traced to be a massive source of new infections. 9 people of 32 dead in India are actually from that Muslim religious congregation. Whenever I defend Muslims on my facebook they do something so stupid and moronic that I have to finally shut my mouth. And one Muslim leader was actually quoted saying "Corona" has come from Koran and Muslims have nothing to fear from this. When that meeting had taken place the state government had already started the lockdown. Even one person from Philippine who attended the meeting has died. There were over 2000 attendees from all over the India. I am seeing 10000x already infected but undetected because of them. 200 of the 20,000 who had attended have already been tested positive. www.indiatoday.in/india/story/delhi-nizamuddin-tablighi-jamaat-event-6-dead-thousands-identified-10-points-1661614-2020-03-31Yes, absolute eejits. Prosecute. Just been revealed by authorities that in that Delhi Muslim congregation, many Maulana and Islamic scholars from Indonesia and Malaysia were invited and that it is very highly likely that Indonesian Muslims attending that event infected the Indians. What amazing morons. and the most depressing thing is that in the hall in which the conference took place, many people were staying since last so many days. I had yesterday predicted 25,000 deaths in India but this single stupidity has made me increase my prediction 5x. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-52104753

Just came to know that this is the same organisation (Tablighi Jamaat) which also behaved similarly arrogantly and carelessly in Malaysia and Indonesia and caused a great spike in the number of cases in those two countries.

I have to admit, one way to guarantee I don't leave my home would be to tell me it was mandatory to wear a mask. Which may be the whole point of the exercise.

I never thought people would mask up round here. People often wear them out and about here now, and nobody bats an eyelid any more. It's just the new normal.
