I'll tell ya one thing, kids. Here in Santa Cruz, where the numbers have been very good, suddenly this weekend there is WAAAAAAAAY more traffic and people hitting the beaches, parks, and trails this weekend. Not just a little bit, today looks like a normal Sunday traffic day here today. It's gorgeous weather today, and it feels like many folks are just saying "Fuck it, we're going out". Is this good or bad? I can't say for sure, but if cases suddenly start spiking up around the Bay Area, this weekend might be the cause.... My father said he is tired of the lockdown. That said he said everyone should be prepared for it. He advised me to do chest exercises to keep my system strong although I am already without any health condition. India's lockdown ends on 3rd may and after that I am expecting a surge in numbers. I have totally agreed with our lockdown but do not think we have enough strength in our economy to keep it going after the 3rd may. May be some hotspots might still be under lockdown but it won't be national lockdown but just by the state government.
My hope is that people are still careful and practice voluntary social distancing. But then I know it is rude to expect my country mates to do that when we have places like Mumbai local trains that is always swarming with people. And it would be rude of me to think people should not overcrowd public places. Of course everyone has to earn his or her living so people have to go out and getting out will mean increased chances of contracting this disease. I just don't want to see endless blame games in a month or two. Some situations are unavoidable. I wouldn't hold anyone responsible if things deteriorate a lot. But my hope is that things do not deteriorate a lot.

I know one thing, I'm already seeing it here in the Bay Area, once the weather starts getting real nice around the US, it's gonna be very hard to expect people to just sit in their homes. It's human nature to want to go out and soak in the sun. As summer hits, people are gonna want to go out to beaches, restaurants, and bars. Gonna be very hard to restrict this stuff.

A Broadway star has had his leg amputated due to Coronavirus - - fairly young guy too. Broadway star Nick Cordero had his right leg amputated as a result of coronavirus-related complications, his wife Amanda Kloots announced on her Instagram Story Saturday. Cordero, 41, has spent 18 days in intensive care while sick with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). “We got some difficult news yesterday,” Kloots began in her latest video update, before revealing that the blood thinners initially helping to ease some clotting in Cordero’s leg were causing issues with his blood pressure, as well as leading to internal bleeding in his intestines.
This has stuck with me since I read it. Is the claim here that Coronavirus - a respiratory desease - caused the internal bleeding in his intestines?

Covid-19 has officially reached our nearest town now (about 4 miles away) and someone we know, who works in a school, knows the infected person and has been in contact with them. We have the unnerving feeling that this thing is closing in around us now.

We have the unnerving feeling that this thing is closing in around us now. It may be too early but I am happy to share that the number of daily deaths seem to be falling in most of the major European countries. Average number of deaths in Italy much lower in the last 7 days as compared to average in the last one month. Better figure reported for the last 3 days from France. Better figures for last 2 days in UK. 5 last days things have improved a bit in Spain as well. Less than 5000 people admitted to hospital for Coronavirus in Belgium for the first time since 31st March. Netherlands finally saw less than 80 daily deaths. Yes, I may be making conclusions early but I have a feeling that the situation is likely to improve now. Even the US has been better these last few days. Though worried a lot about Asia. Hoping things can improve for all of us.

It's shocking/frightening to see some of these celebrities without make-up, without their hair done, etc

The latest person exposed flaunting government guidelines - Tom Brady. Sick of these selfish individuals prolonging the lockdown for the rest of us by staunchly refusing to stay home.

The lock downs seem to be working (well apart from Sweden who must have a more mature and sensible population to make it without a lock down). I am worried about the unrest in the US though, surely they will see a surge in cases if only one protester is infected and becomes a super spreader. So the big question is how long will the lock down last? Here in the UK i predict the government here will be cautious and hold back and watch other country lock downs eased to see what happens. We may be locked down for quite a while yet.

Nice! It really is scandalous though the way the UK govt have basically abandoned UK national overseas who are trying to return here. Contrast that with Germany laying on special flights for their people in the same plight.

Some people deserve to be left where they are though for going on holiday in the first place but yes the ones that have been genuinely trapped in a foreign country i feel for and it is sad that they've been abandoned.

Arsenal FC has a big sponsorship deal with the Rwandan tourist board. The players have "Visit Rwanda" on the sleeves of their shirts.

Sweden has no lock down and yet not even half as many death as Italy (even per capita) but soon herd immunity.

Yay, I guess? Good job on curbing the spread of the virus, but it's a bit of cold comfort when you're admitting you dodged a bullet because it would've been total devastation considering the healthcare system is in complete disarray. Hopefully this opens some doors to major changes over there.
