I'll be watching this space with interest. I've just booked myself in to have the same in 6 days time That's good to know sjg. Vaccination is doing wonders in the UK. Drastic reduction in deaths and cases. It might be possible that they will get away with third wave unlike mainland Europe who are in beginning of third wave. Mom and dad as well as uncles and aunts got vaccinated (oxford) in the last 6 weeks and they didn't see any major side effect. Mom had body ache and that lasted for only 1 day. Thanks for the info on your family AJ. Yes the UK vaccine rollout is going amazingly well. My wife and i are both in our mid 40's and we weren't expecting the call up for quite a while but we both got a text two days ago and i'm booked in on Tuesday next week. My wife is going to see how i get on before she makes a final decision because vaccines historically cause her lots of problems. For example after a polio vaccination when she was in her early 20's she ended up in bed for two years with ME so understandably she is a bit nervous. Despite all the news flying around about the Oxford vaccine i have no issue with it. I'm confident it's one of, if not the best out there and will do the trick. I'm just worried how much my body will react to it and therefore how bad the next day at work will be!

So I began my 13th week since my first dose and no news about my second shot yet. With Quebec's vaccination plan, it seems I may reach the 16th weeks limit and maybe I'll go beyond. We are being told we'll get another text exactly 11 weeks from the date of our first jab asking us to book in for our second jab. This has happened to all of the over 60's i know so i'm confident it will happen to my wife and I as long as the EU doesn't block our supplies. I hope you get your second dose soon mecano

This has happened to all of the over 60's i know so i'm confident it will happen to my wife and I as long as the EU doesn't block our supplies. I hope you get your second dose soon mecano Actually some of my coworkers (also in the nursing homes) got their first shot just a week or two ago yet they got their second appointment scheduled (give or take a day or two) 12 weeks from that date.
It's the people like me, who got their first shot at the very beginning (late december -early january) and had to go to the other end of Montreal (not the actual main vaccination center) that got their appointment canceled and told we would hear from the government about it.
On the news, we're told we aren't forgotten but considering the plan to have everybody in Quebec get at least their first dose before the 24th of June, then it seems a serious challenge in terms of managing the doses is waiting for us.
I actually called the vaccination center about 3 weeks ago, because there was a message circulating at work that we could call and get our second appointment. I got told that it wasn't in the plans right now but I wasn't told a hard no.
Also worth nothing, if I hadn't told the person it was for my second shot I could have actually got an appointment and being an healthcare worker (also from what I heard from my coworkers) I would quite likely have gotten the Pfizer vaccine (which is the same I got the first time).
Anyway, I'm not cheating but some of us are probably gonna be used to make the stats about long term protection of a single dose down the line!

So I began my 13th week since my first dose and no news about my second shot yet. With Quebec's vaccination plan, it seems I may reach the 16th weeks limit and maybe I'll go beyond. That;s rather strange. The time recommended between two doses ranges from 4 to 13 weeks for Oxford jab. For Pfizer it is 4 weeks I guess. So you should ideally get a call now. Pfizer said 3 weeks is the optimal interval, 6 weeks max.
Around mid-january (which is after some coworkers and me got our first shots), Quebec's government decided to copy the UK's plan and extend the interval to 12 weeks.
A few weeks ago (late february - early march), the government decided to extend the delay to 16 weeks.
Is that delay, by itself, putting us at risk? I don't think so as long as we still follow the infection controls procedure and are being careful at what we do but the question is still there, as to what will be the end result, either getting protected properly after all or getting something like a single dose, twice.

'Stay at home' ends in Wales tomorrow, and in England on Monday... People can go for days out again.
We're expecting a flood of day trippers heading to the beaches and countryside here in the west country next week... End of stay at home, Easter, school holidays, and forecast good weather. They're putting portaloos everywhere to try and stop people shitting all over the place like they did last year when they were free to travel again 😒

Would you care to comment on Avon and Somerset Police themself today admitting that they lied about injuries to officers on Sunday night? The injuries were make believe to garner public support... But they say they didn't intend to mislead the press and public. Honest 😒 The same police that on Tuesday threatened to use force against accredited and clearly identified NUJ marked journalists filming them using brutality against completely peaceful protestors doing nothing more than sitting down with their hands in the air... People sitting peacefully punched, kicked, batoned, pepper sprayed, charged by horses and set upon with dogs. This is Bristol, not Myanmar, or Putin's Russia. The tories are trying to make dissent illegal... I'm proud we are the first city to stand up and say fuck no.

Mistakes happen. I see rentamob are out in force again there tonight.
Organisers told them to maintain social distancing, in what they admitted was an illegal gathering under CV restrictions, but those clowns were all marching about six inches apart.
Beanbrains really. No wonder the r number is going back up.

Rules change here today:
Stay at home is over... Can't stay overnight away from home, but days out to places are back on.
Can meet with up to 6 people or any number from two households outdoors for leisure and recreation... No indoor mixing.
Grassroots football resumes (Step 7 of non-league and below)... Supporters allowed back to grassroots football in two weeks time on 12th April (17th May for higher levels).
A ban on leaving the UK for non-essential reasons comes in.

Hope people will be sensible, but I fear otherwise.

Hope people will be sensible, but I fear otherwise. Hopefully even people being dickheads won't have too much of an effect. We should see a leveling off or rise in cases but due to the vaccinations that shouldn't follow on into a rise in hospitalisations and deaths. I hate to agree with the Government but the approach seems studied and safe compared to the farce in Europe and elsewhere. 2 weeks to shops open and then the 5 week gap to greater freedoms allows for careful consideration of any upturns that are worrying. Here's hoping we are on the way to living with this thing in a flu type way.

Hope people will be sensible You're kidding... Free to travel and mix, school holidays begun, long Easter weekend, weather forecast good. It's gonna be bedlam this next two weeks. A free for all. Out with the dogs, and the M5 southbound is definitely a lot busier this morning. Everyone bagging their first day of freedom... Golf club is busy, even TV crews up there interviewing people.

Are you free to travel up there now, like Wales and England? Or is it still stay at home?
