I checked it out for the first time last night. Of course the movie was way better.
It showed some promise. Started out strong but then got weaker towards the end. And it is very predictable. I knew that everyone would live and unlike the movie get a happy ending which I suspect every show is probably like.

That's what made the movie so great. That there was some dark stuff. Such as with the outcome of the murdering deputy and his mother. Or that not all the kids on the ice came out of it alive. Somehow I doubt the show will allow any deaths or dark stuff like that.
For anyone who has seen more than one episode, were there occasional grim endings?
Another thing that made the movie better was that he did not use his newfound "gift" all that often. Here in the show he must have used it like 10 times at least. Less is more.
And how can they make a show based on a movie character who dies at the end?

They hyped the shit out of that back in the day. Brooding Anthony Michael Hall's face was everywhere. I don't think I ever actually watched any of it.

I remember that show.
There were a lot of commercials for it back in the day and I watched a couple episodes.
