Is it legal to lie and deceive someone into clicking on your ad, or is it just not illegal? It's crazy to me that not only does it seem they're perfectly legal, but they're EVERYWHERE and nobody seems to care.

Why not totally get rid of click bait? If there is something awesome that I really must see then just show me the bloody thing.

How much of your money did these click bate ads scam you out of?

I often wonder why so many respectable sites feature such garbage click bait ads. I mean, almost every site has them. It's like how grocery stores all have those garbage magazines at the check out.

As someone else said the sole act of lying is not illegal per se it’s the fraudulent conduct. But that means it has to cause some damage etc. I am also outraged by how poorly native advertising is regulated or rather how poorly it’s regulation is enforced.

Like I said, I agree with you and hate them, but they don't need to be illegal. We just need to be smart enough not to click. I've been trying very hard not to myself.
