Okay, is it just me or is this execution the dumbest storyline? First off, I know how ridiculous it is for Ciara to be able to just walk in during a legal injection procedure. But to have the warden decide to just go ahead with the process when reasonable doubt is being presented? Where’s the guy’s sense of morality? And, why would the governor tell them to proceed when new evidence is coming in? It may not be finalized, but they’re already compiling evidence against Evan. I know it’s a Soap Opera but this is beyond stupid.

I kind of get the warden's position; i mean in any other context the story they're telling him would be absurd. Hell, even in this context it's absurd. All they're offering is a cock and bull story, without corroboration. If Ciara came in with a report from Rafe's FBI contact or with the contact on the phone, that might lend some credibility.
The governor's response was stupid though. Why even bother to call? And the reasoning that there's no evidence compounded the stupidity - the damn mayor is telling you there is proof to review and a manhunt underway for the alleged real perpetrator, who is also believed to have kidnapped a child.
And they going to double down on this tomorrow, ostensibly by having Ciara march not-Evan into the prison at gun point; and I bet no one will stop her.
All that said though, if the writers wanted us to think the execution was unjustified, they should have retconned his past as the Necktie killer; because even if he's not guilty of this murder, he's still guilty of other murders.

Okay, I forgot I had to stop before I got to the end of the episode; so I had made that call about Ciara before actually seeing her do just that. And yet it was entirely predictable. Not only was she able to lead a man into a prison at gun point, all the way to the execution chamber, without anyone stopping her; the alarm doesn't even sound until seconds before she walks through the door...

Oh, that poor warden; all he's trying to do is run a prison and people keep waltzing in waving guns around... And the dumbass guards don't even respond to Ciara, much less Rafe coming in with a gun drawn.

I know this is a Soap Opera but seeing Ciara with the gun pointing at Evan was so absurd. Like he wouldn’t have been able to overpower her?

I can see how Ciara got in with the gun because she was holding someone hostage.
But how did Rafe, a cop, get through security at the prison WITH his gun? Don't you have to surrender your weapon?
I've never visited a prison before but I've seen enough TV/movies to know they don't let cops in a prison with guns.
