I laughed a bit when they fast forwarded in his career. You can tell his tone changes a bit discussing Justice League vs BvS but you could even see a tone change from the rest of his breakdowns and BvS.
Oh what could've been.

His run as Batman was like an inverse of RDJ’s run as Iron Man. He was on top of the world after his latest movie won Best Picture, but after he started playing Batman, his marriage fell apart, BvS was poorly received, Live by Night bombed, his public image took a hit, and he went back to alcoholism.

There's something bland about him. He lacks any kind of masculine assertiveness. A David Manners type.

Milquetoast is what it would have been called at one time. He doesn't have much charisma to be a lead.

Yeah, I don't think will see him in any superhero film any time soon. It's kind of sad really. He is a big comic fan, but maybe he just shouldn't go for those roles. Well hell when I think about it, his best films are the small movies to mid-level movies. Anytime he's gone for blockbusters he gets hammered. If the reports are accurate that came about him talking about Batman from his friends then it's probably a good thing he put down the cape. I can't remember exactly where I read it, but I'm pretty sure someone said he probably wouldn't have survived another Batman movie. The amount of stress + alcohol.

It’s a crying shame. I was really looking forward to his Batman movie.

It’s a crying shame. I was really looking forward to his Batman movie. Made me wonder if any actors career has been as much of a rollercoaster as his has as well. Both Gone Girl and The Way Back feel like perfect parallels for Afflecks real life.

It becomes even more saddening each day that he never made his own Batman movie.

He didn’t really bother me in the role. He just played it in some disappointing movies. Hopefully he will get back into his groove directing Witness for the Prosecution and Ghost Army. Then in a few years I think he should write and direct (not star) in a comic book based film. I think he could make a great one. If Todd Phillips can pull off the Joker then Affleck could certainly make something great. Making a movie based on The Question would be perfect for him.
