Two disappointing games tonight. Titans just can't hold onto the ball which led to their defence eventually caving in while Souths never really looked a chance against the Roosters. Easts are looking pretty good for three in a row to me.

Stark difference in the refereeing between the two games. The Roosters and Storm will be hoping games get adjudicated like Klein did in the Chooks/Souths game. Slow rucks and hardly any “6 agains”. I think the Roosters will be thereabouts, but maybe not GF winners just yet. Souths won’t win anything with Latrell Mitchell at fullback. Too casual and poor positioning. He’d be great as a drift in drift out 5/8, but Souths already have one of those in Cody Walker.

Dragons aren't winning anything either and, unlike the Roosters, that "anything" includes a game of football. Bloody awful performance. If we were playing any other team apart from the Titans we'd be 4 tries down already. But 2 converted tries may as well be 30 points the way we're playing.
Only positive is that we're not wearing the Red V today.

Oh I’m so sorry Hosko.
That was simply inept from the Dragons. They have absolutely nothing. No wonder Frizzell chucked it in. If McGregor is fair dinkum, he has to make about 6-7 changes to that side.
Good win for the Tigers, but the Sharks were the architects of their own demise. They stripped the Tigers right edge defence for 3 tries in the blink of the eye in the first stanza, and then ignored it in the second half. And they followed that with some absolutely boneheaded options and some of the most flimsy defence I’ve ever seen in 1st Grade.
Canberra doing the business here against the Storm 18-6 with 23 to go

Mary's gone. I think he probably needed the team to play finals this year to keep his job and that ain't happening. While people may argue about the quality of Corey Norman's performances for the Dragons, there's no arguing why it was never going to be a good fit: the man is a merc who could not give a shit about the club. And a year ago they wanted to offload Dufty to bring in Jarryd Hayne, another merc who couldn't give a shit about the club he plays for. It just shows the thinking, or lack of it, in recruiting this team has. I feel bad for James Graham who surely had no idea just what a clusterf@ck he was walking into when he came here.
And let's not even talk about the basket case we have at half back or what we're paying him. Whatever. This year's a write off and each subsequent year will be too unless there's a real change in focus from the top down.

Saw the highlights of that Storm/ Raiders game. Really strong defensive performance from Canberra though may have been a very different game if the Storm's FB hadn't lost the ball on what looked a certain try in the first half.
How well is Benji playing? I mean his goal kicking was abonimable but he looks great at everything else. Canberra's half back looks a great buy too at this stage.

First draw of the season last night between the Knights and Panthers and Manly capoed things off flattening the Doggies.

Roy and HG had Broncos as the week's biggest winners for being 30 points closer to Parra than they were last time they played. It's low hanging fruit but you still have to pick it.

The game last night was past my bedtime, but Holy Shit what a thrashing! Brisbane have gone from looking pretty good in the first two rounds to getting outscored 93-6 in the first two weeks back. While their two losses came to powerful and potent attacking teams they may be every bit as bad as the Titans and Dragons right now. And the Roosters: still looking good for 3 in a row to me.

A couple of entertaining games yesterday: Parramatta downing Manly 19-16, but only after a late game winning try was disallowed due to a forward pass. Looked like it was backwards out of the hands to me, but whatever.
That was followed by Cronulla, following a pre game scare with 6 of their squad initially failing pre game protocols before passing at the second attempt, beating The Cowboys 26-16.

Well, that was a very entertaining game for a neutral, but must have been agonising for a Tigers fan. The Tigers didn't take enough risks. Simple as that. And the Titans had a real crack for 80 minutes and showed they can be an entertaining team as well.
Knights continued their good start to the year upsetting Canberra. Rrally strong showing from Mitchell Pearce.

Typical Tigers. Lose the ones we should win. I thought Gold Coast throughly deserved their win though. But WT are once again in our little comfort zone of inconsistency and 9th on the ladder.
I’ve been a bit lax here, but with work I just can’t seem to catch a break to watch any of the games. And the ones I do get to watch end up 59-0.
I think I missed a cracker in the Manly Parra game. And that pass was definitely backwards out of the hands, but running alongside like a touchy does, it would’ve looked forward.
At the moment, the only sides that look to have really put 4 good games together are Penrith, Parramatta, Manly and Newcastle. And I’ve got to say, it’s refreshing to see different names atop the ladder. Of course I wish a certain side was there too.

Well, that was disheartening. Like just nothing. No energy. Being bad is one thing. Just not doing anything is something completely different. FFS, do...something. That's what I was thinking that entire game. Nothing else to add.

Two games tonight that I'm intrigued about. A good, firing in all cylinders, Manly team taking on the struggling Broncos. What's the response going to be from Brisbane? At 2-2 their season is certainly salvageable, but they need to fire some shots and at least lose competitively this week or you can see their season drifting away.
Collingwood play Richmond. It's a big match up due to both being top 4 teams last year and both having huge memberships. But their games are nearly always blowouts. Collingwood are missing key players, including Cox, and I just can't see them making a game of this.

Pies leading by 2 at 3/4 time, but we're no chance of holding on. Only 1 goal in the last 40 minutes. As soon as Richmond found their pressure we had no answer. A pretty ridiculous late video decision but whatever.
Manly have come from a ways back to dtaw level 18-18 with Brisbane. Response haa been there from the Broncos and after last week, it needed to be.

I don't know how we managed to draw that after not scoring a goal for the last two and ahalf quarters. First Collingwood/ Richmond draw since 1917.
Manly.complete their comeback winning 20-18.

Manly simply ground out their victory. Brisbane played much better, but they cannot turn momentum. Pies v Tigers - honestly, worst game of AFL I’ve seen in a long long time. Panthers up 10-0 at halftime against the Eels in a pretty entertaining game

Panthers up 10-0 at halftime against the Eels in a pretty entertaining game To be fair, both sets of players in the Richmond/ Collingwood game were absolute knackered by about halfway through the third quarter. Parra came back to win 16-10. Their second try was one of the best of the season. Plonga off loading while fallimg after bding ankle tapped. They're looking pretty good for top 4 at this stage. And while NZ vs North QLD may be the Who Cares Cup, it looks like it was a wild and woolly game with lots of lead changes finishing 37-26. In their first meeting at Kardinia Park in 14 years Geelong absolutely destroyed Hawthorn 108-47. Biggest game today is Souths v Titans. Souths lose that and it will knock the Dragons off the back page and the conversation will change from where Bennett will coach next year to if he'll be coaching anywhere.

Hmm, a couple of disappointing games yesterday which might have actually been good if the Titans and Knights had played fair dinkum out of the gate rather than not really putting in until the srcond half. Much needed win for Souths, but I thought they were quite fortunate that GC had a try disallowed late. Haven't seen the Tigers game yet, but they led (narrowly) for a good chunk before Canberra out scored them 14-2 in the last hslf hour.
In the AFL, really good game between Brisbane and Fremantle. I've got real fears for Melbourne after they turned a 32-0 first quarter into 54-53 thriller against Carlton. Adelaide were absolutely pathetic in the showdown against Port, losing by 75. In the last game Gold Coast pulled off what will likely be the boilover of the season, thrashing West Coast by 44 points. I'll have to check out the replay of that one ss that sentence really is unbelievable.
And, the more I think of that Thursday game, the more I remember Collingwood games the last couple of years where they just shut the game down if they're having trouble moving the ball. Games with 1 or 2 goals in a half of football. Only team I've seen really bust through it is GWS in last year's prelim.
